aaronyoji 2,007
I love watching little monsters learn for the first time of Julian Assange. Perhaps it's time to step away from vapid pop culture for a second and pay attention to important developments in the real world. puuuhreach!!! lol. ive known about this since winter of 2010. just sayin. i heard about it on multiple news outlets but also it inspired m.i.a's vicki leekz mixtape, so there is a way to be informed through music, and im glad gaga does that. Amen Fashion 1,135
Was wikileaks "was" doing was actually fine. Up to the point Assage decided to do things on his own and got alot of people killed.
Nemo 4,207
This is genious. WikiLeaks was a good thing, but it was done in a wrong way. Love them too! I wonder what you think the right way would be? Was wikileaks "was" doing was actually fine. Up to the point Assage decided to do things on his own and got alot of people killed. No one has been killed because of Wikileaks. So far, two people's lives have been ruined -- but those are Bradley Manning and Julian Assange.
jhonyguy04 3
I have seen the articles and honestly they don't seem to paint her in a bad light, which is a big sigh of relief.
Iconoclast 2
Is it really public discourse that has aligned him with terrorism, or could it stem from the propaganda of the military-industrial complex? It's all discourse... All discourse filters down from groups / individuals with power and permeates the ideas and views of the general public. Reading this thread, I am kind of sad that so many monsters are quick to judge Assange on the basis of what mainstream media tells them. That said, I can only imagine what gaga and assange would have talked about.. Lol.

TheMadridHash 4
She went there for 3 different reasons although only one is correct 1-. Gaga wants attention(my bet tbh... ) 2-. Assange has hacked Interscope and has ARTPOP, she went there to negociate with him so he doesn't leak 3-. Gaga wants to know what are katy, britney, RiRi, etc. up to(musically). So she's paying him to hack and give her some intel :ohwell:

I would argue for both, tho mostly the propaganda, which layed cause for the public discourse on the topic, both resulting in his current perception by the public. phoenixxx 33
His curriculum? Please consult a dictionary in the future. And it's not Julian's job to clear his name after a rape ALLEGATION. It's the prosecution's job to provide substantial evidence of rape. Otherwise, everyone (including yourself) could have their public image smeared by rape allegations. when someone's initial PR effort after such allegations have been made is to suggest that the legal definition of rape in sweden under which the charges have been filed does not in fact constitute rape, it doesn't do your case a whole load of favours tbh.I'll just add that I'm a big supporter of wikileaks and have been for a *long* time, but rape apologism sickens me. cherry pie 1
Bad for the US? He just showed to the world the real face of 'democracy' we're living in and how the US government does whatever they want with other countries intern problems. Keep on thinking governments are up to protect people, they just care about their own interests.

First, English is not my first language. Second, it is his responsibility to face these accusations as the Swedish justice decided these are more than mere allegations, otherwise these would have been dismissed in the first place (no cause) if the evidence was not substantial enough. If he is innocent, he could easily clear his name from that, he just now acting as if there is something true with these allegations. At least, this is the perception.
