It’s funny how people here think that the Chinese government would go through 3 months of hysteria and bad news coming from China and not stop that information from spreading but as soon as there seems to be a slow (which is EXPECTED with efforts of disease spread mitigation) its suddenly like “we can’t believe them!”

Pretty sure most disease experts would say that after being ravaged by the disease since December and several efforts to stop the spread, that it makes sense that by mid-March the disease is slowing down

When you go from confirming hundreds of new cases a day to ZERO in less thantwo weeks, yes China is lying. Be smarter.

I don’t see the point in fabricated numbers. The early 2020 numbers from China were horrifying.

Not that horrifying if you know the number of their population. Please try to compare the number of their cases to Europe.

Europe, like the US were slow in their response to it. I mean I just read that the UK is BARELY closing **** down. That’s a terribly slow response. I don’t see the need for fabricated numbers. Clearly neither do others. You can believe the numbers are fake though.

I’ll trust any country with more wide spread testing available like South Korea over a country like the US where many cases remain untested.

I believe the no reported cases mean no new cases for native Chinese. However, there are cases of people coming into the country.

China I guess is resuming BAU practices however, we don't know the truth of how under control this crisis is in China. The same way they hid the virus in Dec 19 and Jan 20, they could now be doing the same to give the illusion that things are under control. These are not facts, these are just what I'm assuming can happen.

I think it’s fair to assume it to some degree. With the markets fumbling all week it makes you wonder what’s being reported to avoid creating more hysteria. I wonder how Japan is responding to all of this as well. I know South Korea has been super aggressive with their response.

So you are saying if you once lied, you will always be a liar and nothing you say is true then?

It already happened with SARS :billie: why wouldn't they lie a THIRD time?

China were silenced for about a month after they discovered the virus. They weren’t quick in response either. 1.3 billion people walking around freely for a month and only 80k cases were reported. And now they say 0 domestic case. :billie:

They were affected dramatically with viral outbreaks in the early 2000s. They, I guess we're ready for something like this to minimize the fallout from another outbreak. They truly are an inspiration and other capitalist democracies should take note.

Japan is also been hidding numbers (they don't want to postpone the olympics). They barely test anyone, otherwise we'd see Europe numbers.

They had SARS and MERS outbreaks before.

I saw some Japanese tweets saying their hospitals refused to give them test for the virus back in February. :billie:

Their government are desperate to keep the Olympics going.:billie:

Lord Temptation

You mean the CCP, the same party that killed millions in the 1940s-60s during the Cultural Revolution, and more recently killed thousands of innocents in Tianamen Square in 1989, cannot be trusted??????????????

Who knew? :fthis:

Of course China lied. That’s what they do. It’s what they’ve ALWAYS done.

Sweetheart listen to yourself. China has achieved great things no doubt, but the government lies all the time. We would think they would learn their lesson when other viral outbreaks occured in the early 2000s but they haven't. They put the entire world at risk. So kill us for not believing a word the Chinese Communist Party has to say.

Don't listen to that user. They're clearly biased towards China. They also claim that Coronavirus came from Europe, but doesn't have any sources to back it up.

Sis same. :billie: but not a country that lied for the third time of the outbreak of a disease.
