I wonder how will artists survive? They can’t even perform in front of people...it’s very saddening. If artists cannot even show audiences their pain and sorrow. I honestly hope the vaccine works and is not like $10,000 or whatever

I think you have to look for a playground or workout at home with video tutorials... I think with some creativity you can adapt  I'm already doing it, it's just making it a habit out of it, that will feel weird.. since usually people don't regard being at home with exercising...

None of this will last anywhere beyond a few weeks a few minimal months.

1) they’re already working on treatments that basically cure the disease in people and would reduce this thing to a seasonal flu 

2) every country would become a third world civilization and at that point there’d be no money to even maintain the lights on in a hospital. More people would die of disease hunger thirst exhaustion panic, people would kill themselves, and people would commit crimes to survive — this would end up in more mortalities than the virus would ever dream of. At that point governments would say screw it and have us do what China did and just live with it ——- considering treatments are already developed and they want to verify their full efficacy id give these lockdowns max until May / June —- IF ANYTHING.

I was considering that possibility, that it might even be the new normal. Similar to the HIV epidemic in the 80s and 90s, except COVID19 is far more contagious. I’m trying to be sceptical but positive but it seems that information itself is contradictory and self-affirmatory: people’s beliefs actually dictate what kind of reality they want, almost like self-fulfilling prophecies. It’s pretty scary.

It took scientists over 30 years to develop PreP as a form of protection against HIV which is already a very lowly infectious virus. COVID19 on the other hand is spread through the air and by touching, so I don’t expect a cure or vaccine anytime soon. Plus, legally whatever drugs they end up releasing would have to past statistical quality controls and pass peer-reviewed academic journals, a process that takes months or years. Scientists need to prove that a treatment actually works AND itself is safe.

About your point about societal anarchy, my fear is that the government cannot pay soldiers and the military ends up rebelling and trying to overthrow the government and we end up in complete and utter madness. Then it will be WW3.

Except COVID-19 is NOWHERE near the lethality of HIV. COVID-19 is about 80% similar to the original SARS outbreak from the early 2000’s and the entire genome of COVID-19 is already identified. Global scientists around the globe have been working on a vaccine for COVID-19 with success and around the globe vaccinations are already in their trial phase in humans. This is especially due to studying the original SARS outbreak (which if funding for a vaccine was provided in 2003/2004 we wouldn’t be in this mess).Additionally existing treatments for other ailments are having great success with treating COVID-19 and with some more data in the next few weeks they’ll be supplied to reduce the lethality of COVID-19 in the small number of patients (small as in 80-90% of those infected dont need to be hospitalized) and have treatment take far less time. With this it would also reduce being contagious and could effectively render the virus to something like a seasonal flu. So this will hopefully pass rather quickly — Korea is another success story although they didn’t have any brand of treatment their social policies have people back in the streets shopping (one of my friends moved to SK and I saw his stories of buying ice cream and desserts with a friend and they were then dining in a BBQ restaurant).

this thing will blow over by the end of the summer we just need patience and the full cooperation of people and our governments —- it’s a hard pill to swallow and besides FaceTime I won’t be able to see my boyfriend much even though he’s a 15-minute drive down a local highway. Luckily I’ve been working from home, and my father is a federal employee and my mother works as a nurses aid to a specific woman and is paid by the state. Financially ATM we’re lucky but a lot of other families won’t be if this persists for too long so governments are trying to act quickly —- especially to avoid having China as the only super power considering they’re all getting back to work (and I do not believe they’ve managed to stop new infections — they just don’t care anymore now that they’ve rendered every other economy useless).

I hope so. As long as the virus is dispersed and no longer in clusters of superspreaders we can ge back to normal. China and South Korea have very little new infections, but if it gets back into those countries from people travelling from Europe, then we may end back where we started. Hopefully the world works together in this fight. As long as it exists in clusters in one part of the world it will be an eventual threat everywhere else.

Well I never trust what China says BUT I trust South Korea highly especially since I’ve seen friends from South Korea broadcasting their life via Instagram and they’re back to dining-in at restaurants and gathering outdoors and indoors. I’m sure that international travel will be regulated HEAVILY until the vaccine is developed wherein people traveling to and from any given country will likely need some screening. We’ll return to normal prior to the end of the summer but as far as traveling internationally and immigration — it’ll forever be different.
