Except they purposely attended knowing it was a crisis, and had no remorse when they acquired it and actually celebrated it. How many people do you think they spread it to that day? Ask yourself that question.

Why the hell wasn't this canceled? Sorry but those guys deserved it.. Why the hell would you even go when there's pandemic happening in the world?

while it could've have been cancelled, at the time the festival started, a lot of events were still happening, not just "gay festivals".

the state of emergency in the US was declared on March 13, after the closing of the festival.

if there is anyone to blame, please blame the festival organizers, and the president, not the LB=GBTQ community.

You want an award? Guess what, I’m not straight. So I don’t care about the straight community. If they’re out there at festivals and beaches too, it’s deserved. If I’m not allowed to criticize my own gay community, and it’s considered “hate” for them not taking safety precautions, then it sounds like it’s simply offense taken on your behalf with no basis behind it.

Yeah no ****. No one deserves to get this disease but people really are showing off their idiocy but not following the regulations.

no. you can criticize. my problem is that youre taking one IG post, and applying this to the whole gay community.

plus, youre ignoring the timelines of this: the festival started waaay before all of the crisis in the US. if there is anyone to blame, blame the authorities and the organizers, not the "gays" as a whole

That still doesnt make oke for you to hate on the entire gay community and its oke to critize your own community but atleast try to do in a more civil manner

People should be smarter. I don't only blame LGBTQ people, I blame everyone who had anything to do with this including them. People should be smarter and know better than to go to this gathering. Organizers had nothing to do with people who decided to go to this event while the pandemic was killing thousands of people in the world including USA.

The festival started March 4.

On march 4, the situation was:

- no state of emergency declared (declared on March 13)

- only 158 cases in the whole US declared

I have a problem with posts targeting the gay community as a whole. Those posts imply that gays still continue to party and dont care at all about the events, which is simply not true. They rely on preconceived ideas about the gays that are dangerous and hurtful.  I just want to set the facts straight, and that people have a little more compassion and understanding within their own community.
