Bernie Sanders Will ‘Assess’ His Campaign After Another Brutal Primary

I hate the "better of two evils" scenario because it shouldn't have to come up. But that's what happened in 2016. And the Republicans won. And Trump was able to put two conservative judges into the Supreme Court. 5 years ago, I got the right to marry only because one more person sided with me on the Supreme Court than against me. 

Your choice to make. I would just point out that if you take away the R and the D from Trump and Biden and look at their records, what they've actually fought for, the difference is mostly marginal and based on personality. The way they govern is more or less the same. I would also just ask that you consider the impact of a Joe Biden presidency on the future of progressive policies in America. It's a guarantee that Joe Biden isn't going to sign into law any progressive policy; he already indicated he would veto medicare for all even if it was passed in congress. So you're talking 4, maybe even 8 years for sure before progressive policies have a shot at getting passed. Then if you take into consideration that we tend to flip/flip from D to R in the presidency, we're talking up to maybe 8-16 years before a progressive has a meaningful chance at the democratic nomination and for those policies to come into fruition. Democrats put themselves in this situation by nominating Hillary Clinton in 2016 and they made the situation even worse when they've seemingly aligned with Joe Biden. Now you and I will have to make a difficult decision. I'm just expressing how my decision will be made and what that decision will be.

That's not really what Biden has been saying... He's giving his opinions on how he thinks the government policies should be handled and the Majority of the Left agree with him now … he's only anti Trump's leadership...

Biden made it very clear in this interview he would veto Medicare for All. Majority of the Left does not agree with Biden in terms of policy, what are you smoking? Literally every exit poll of every state, including the ones Bernie has lost, show a majority support for Medicare for All as Bernie has proposed. The reason Bernie continues to lose is because the majority of the Party, including some on the left, see Biden as more electable (Again, because Cable News told them that was the case, the actual polling does not bear that out at best). It is not enough to just be Anti-Trump in order to win the general. Did you not see how Hillary campaigned in 2016? Her entire campaign was Anti-Trump.

My choice for pres. dropped out some time ago ..  Biden isn't a savior or even the best option … agreed ...

But Bernie's plan's have clearly fall short … 

Reality check suggests that there are two candidates to choose from for President in Nov... 

Biden or Trump …. we all know what Trump is … Biden is the better option in my opinion … so shading him now will only help the opposition ….

Growing up doesn't mean that I vote the way you want me to. I have my own opinions and I have every right to post that opinion and to vote however I want. You can continue to vote shame me but that shows that the person who needs to grow up is not me but you. 

 

 Social Security is a hugely messy system that nobody our age will ever receive benefits from because it is so much in debt. Biden recognized that. Big deal! 
 

Al Gore is the real Social Security king and I hope Biden puts him in charge of it.

Then you and I are on the same page. Biden vs Trump is just a bowl of sh*t looking in the mirror at itself. And I definitely don't think Bernie should throw in the towel yet. But I am discouraged part in due to the recent primary results. I knew it would be an uphill battle because its against the DNC's interest, but its still demoralizing to see those numbers. 

So it basically becomes damage control to me. Bernie making a come back and becoming the Democrat Candidate is best case scenario. Worst case scenario is Biden wins it. If that does become the case, then we already won't get progressive policies won't get through, regardless if Biden or Trump wins. As you say, we tend to flip sides in the presidency. So, is it more advantageous to let Trump have this one, and do more damage (my biggest concern in my anecdote being that RBG has been having health concerns, and her leaving is a massive blow if she is replaced by another Kavanaugh) and then after his presidency we do this all again and potentially have a progressive candidate for once? That's not rhetorical, I genuinely don't know. Because you're right, it could be another 16 years of no progress. 

Maybe we aren't on the same page, and you're actually way ahead of me lmao. Like I said, I'm relieved that my state doesn't swing, so my vote only matters for more localized politics.

How did his plans fall short? All polling shows people prefer Bernie’s policies to Biden but choose Biden bc of perceived electability.
