BUtterfield 8 41,816
WASHINGTON — After yet another string of lopsided primary losses, Bernie Sanders plans to talk with his supporters to assess the path forward. “The next primary contest is at least three weeks away. Sen. Sanders is going to be having conversations with supporters to assess his campaign,” Sanders campaign manager Faiz Shakir said in a Wednesday morning statement. “In the immediate term, however, he is focused on the government response to the coronavirus outbreak and ensuring that we take care of working people and the most vulnerable.” This comes the morning after Sanders lost three more large-state primaries by wide margins, and fell even further behind Joe Biden in the fight for the Democratic nomination. https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/jgengk/bernie-sanders-will-assess-his-campaign-after-another-brutal-primary-night?utm_source=vicenewsfacebook
HorusRa2 5,005
He shouldn't drop out. Also, the primary contests should be suspended because of the threat to public health they represent until the states can send in mail in ballots. The DNC should be sanctioning more debates (there is only 1 more scheduled as of now) as the nation has more problems than ever and american people need to hear out the differing visions between Joe and Biden because their differences are significant. All this can be done if the DNC cared about anything. The obviously will not and will continue to have contests and force people to go out in large crowds in order to have their vote counted. It's clear they don't care about the people. They care about their candidate, Joe Biden, winning.
REALITY 80,161
Unfortunately, I just don't see a path for Sanders moving forward. The absolute best he could do right now is go into a contested convention and hope that he gets enough delegates there, but that's not going to happen. Hopefully, he could persuade Biden to move more to the left. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢.
Bonkers 30,860
His endorsement has the most value NOW. Everyone is just getting angrier, and there's no point to it all. If he's holding out for more concessions, NOW is the time to get the most because most people want to unite and start focusing on Trump instead of fighting with each other. The longer he waits, the more damage is done, the less likely to committ. Trump was afraid Hillary would pick Bernie as VP not because he's scared of Bernie but because his plan was to turn Bernie supporters against Hillary. It worked, and he won. Biden can't pick Bernie as his VP, but those two better figure out something they can both get behind so we can move forward. He continued to lie about his record in the last debate. When he lies about his record, what reason do I have to believe he is telling the truth about what he is going to do in the future? The only reason Joe will change his platform is to pander to Bernie voters for the general election and he will pivot hard right after he's won the general election. I will do everything I can to deny Joe Biden that opportunity. Joe Biden does not deserve my vote.

You have participated in so many political discussion that really should have developed enough impulse control to realize that toxic reactions are annoying and not helpful. Bernie lied more than Joe. Bernie made a commercial out of Joe mocking Paul Ryan's plan and edited it so it looked like the position was Joe's. Everybody has things to be upset about. If you go back and look Joe Biden has consistently been on the Senate floor advocating for the need to cut social security, medicare and veterans benefits. Bernie did not lie about anything with regard to Joe's record on Social Security. Growing up doesn't mean that I vote the way you want me to. I have my own opinions and I have every right to post that opinion and to vote however I want. You can continue to vote shame me but that shows that the person who needs to grow up is not me but you. Are you ACTUALLY making that accusation with any evidence? Do you even look at FEC reports? you don't have any evidence and the FEC reports would show if there was anything shifty going on. You're just being polarizing on purpose.

I'm relieved and angered that due to the state that I live in and the fact it votes the same every election, my vote for president doesn't matter. But I have to admit, in the interest of my personal politics, it's more advantageous to choose Joe over Trump if it came down to the two of them. I hate the "better of two evils" scenario because it shouldn't have to come up. But that's what happened in 2016. And the Republicans won. And Trump was able to put two conservative judges into the Supreme Court. 5 years ago, I got the right to marry only because one more person sided with me on the Supreme Court than against me.
