Those apps are a constant competition of who's better/does it better/is more popular etc. I feel like inspiration in general has died. We see the same old concept for movies/series/remakes... I think any app based on popularity or superficiality is poisonous and creates a homogenous view of culture, art, beauty... the world. I really dislike it I don't like how social media encourages such conformity and turns everyone into trend-chasing shells of themselves. From what I understand of TikTok, it seems that same culture exists there. It's all terrible for society, imo. Anyway! That's life today, I guess. subtext / fantasy
Magui 2,628
When something new or more interesting appears ... These things seem to be always in change. I don't use it, or even know how it works, but generally that's my opinion.

Is it only meme-content? Are the 'GP' really using that? Or is it mainly influencers or people who want to be influencers? Why would average kids be uploading memes of themselves? Everyone uses it. Elementary school kids use it, middle schoolers use it, high schoolers use it, college kids use it. Everyone uses it because it tailors what you actually see to what you want to see. It's funny if you want it to be, it's a thirst trap if you want it to be, it's oddly satisfying if you want it to be. Their algorithm finds a way to show you what you didn't know you needed to see. Luckily, a lot of it is funny, too! It's getting reposts on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.. I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon because of how wide it stretches beyond the Tik Tok app itself. @WhoAskedOpinions - Rates, reviews, and rankings of music and TV shows
DeleteMyAccount 11,881
Please. The influencer culture of tik tok(yes there really is one) is so pretentious. At least Industries like YouTube provide content and competition to entertainment.
Seeka 12,372
I feel like a lot of what people find as "cringe content" is what you laugh at your best friend doing because you know them so well. I don't have tiktok but I find the videos my bestie shows me as really funny. And relatable. However, I also could be diagnosed with depression and probably something else I'm entirely unaware of. So I shouldn't be talking.
andreas85 400
Vast majority of TikTok videos are atrocious and unnecessary. It's also controlled by the government of China and this is why it's morally questionable to support it.
