This was a nice read and I agree with you. Madame X is really nice both album and era, I love it so much. Probably this is my favorite album by Madonna as well. Don't get me wrong, I love Like a Prayer, Ray of Light, COADF and even MDNA and Rebel Heart, though they're far from fan's favorite albums.

The aesthetics of Madame X era – I think this is the reason why I love the album. This phrase, Madame X is a dancer, a head of state, a professor, a saint, a *****... was stucking in my head for a while.

And yes, for me Madame X is AOTY. :bye:

It's really great to see new Madonna fans and even more exciting to see that recent albums are becoming favorites. Madonna really is the Queen of Pop and I understand why so many people disliked Madame X, it is quite polarizing and the auto tune can be a bit too much sometimes but that's part of Mirwais' touch.

Anyway, I think my Top 5 albums are:

1. Ray of Light

2. Confessions

3. American Life

4. Music

5. Either Bedtime Stories or Madame X right now, but Rebel Heart also has a lot of songs I enjoy.

I do love her 80's music but since I didn't really listen to her around that time and only the singles from those albums, I usually skip album tracks from her first 4.

Yes I get it too when people say they dislike it because of the autotune. It’s very prominent and can be a bit much. But for some reason it works very well imo and like you said, it’s part of Miwais’ touch. His work with my Madonna is my favorite:firega:

Love your Top 5! I also agree about her 80s albums. I love them too, but I don’t really go out my way to listen to them, like some of the other albums. True Blue tho:diane:

Actually, the tour was what made me appreciate the album even more. The show was so special because of the theatre setting and no phone policy. And it felt soo inspired, multicultural and political, I was very into it the whole time. Every single detail felt very well thought out. So for me the tour was probably the best part. Even though I have to admit, the injury cancellations made it look a bit messy and covid-19 definitely didn’t help either. But hey, props to her for sticking to her tour and fighting through her injury! She still did more than most.

I love your take on it:diane: The thing is, I can’t really judge the tour since there is almost no footage available, but I’m sure my opinion will change when the DVD comes out! Did you see the show?:)

Yes! I agree with all of this. The aesthetic got my attention from the very first promo vid. So well thought out and it makes me feel so happy for some reason. I love how she embraced all those different cultures and made it her own:heart: The documentary is fantastic and I still rewatch it from time to time!

Yeah, I was lucky to see her in London! Getting tickets was probably one of the best decisions of my life, such special tours are a rare occasion. You'll love Madame X even more after the DVD, the show really does a great job at fulfilling her vision of this era :diane:

I have a feeling Madonna will release DVD in Summer as a dedication to one year anniversary of Madame X album.

Ugh this underrated masterpiece:diane: I wish she did more songs with that same group of women. I love their presence on the track!

So you haven’t heard Ray of Light or American Life? American Life is kinda controversial since some love it and other hate it, but Ray of Light universally loved! I would definitely recommend it.

Truly impossible. She always takes forever to release her DVD!

MDNA tour was filmed on November 2012 and released on september 2013, while the Rebel Heart Tour was filmed on March 2016 and released on september 2017 :toofunny:

But lyrics are honestly so bad and autotune is unbearable.. Love her but we cannot really say that this album is lyrically good

How are the lyrics on Madame X bad tho... It’s filled with great lyrics. It’s definitely her best album lyrically since American Life imo. Songs like Looking For Mercy, Extreme Occident, God Control, Dark Ballet, Killers Who Are Partying and I Rise are lyric standouts.
