Last outbreak of this magnitude was in 2009, and even then the death rate and hospitalisation was lower. Hospitals were overwhelmed in many countries but not like we see now in China, Iran or Italy. The problem is actually not the death rate, but the sickness rate, the hospitals and economy can't afford all this amount of sick people at the same time.
