I have not spoke with my grandma for more than a year. She called me on my birthday a year ago and aske "Are you a fa**ot" and that broke my heart. 

I know I have to call her back to resolve this but I feel so ashamed and like I let her down. I really miss her and her support and Im thinking what if she dies and that was our last convo?

I’m so sorry that happened to you. That must be so awful.. Hearing your family say something like that.. I’m so sorry! 

I do think that you should be a bigger person and try to make things right. What she did is awful but try explaining to her that it doesn’t matter if you’re gay or whatever. Tell her that you miss her support and that you’d like to have her in your life again.

My mother (her daughter) told me that she is ok with that and that they always kinda knew but I feel so freaking scared to make that phone call and even more scared to have this conversation live. 

It´s funny because I'm not the person that gives up on anything but in this situation I feel soooo broken. 

Don't feel sorry. At least I can live without having to lie to them which is much better than living a lie. 

 

That is how I came out to my mom "Hey, I know that our relationship is awful and that is because of me. I have been lying to you most of the life and did not let you come close but now I need your support with this and I need you to love me no matter what...". - it was hard for her to accept that but I kinda gave her ultimatum that she will be excluded from my life if she doesn't accept the fact I'm gay with a boyfriend and a dog. 

 

 

Btw, thank you for noticing this post, I didn't say anyone this and I feel like I'm gonna blow for 2 weeks (my last birthday) because she didnt call me.
