Magoo 6 Posted March 31, 2013 Share Posted March 31, 2013 It seems that with Easter there is a 'super weekend' effect on itunes with songs that do well at weekends like Thrift Shop rising, and songs that do better in the week like JGMAR fairing not so well. It'll probably revert back to 'normal' in a couple of days. I wonder how much bigger the sales are due to Easter; if it is enough for TS to snatch the digital #1 for the week back off JGMAR - could be close. I believe that we are seeing a mini Christmas Day effect. People are buying established hits and sleeper hits that they've been hearing on the radio for a while now. P!nk could keep that lead if radio was playing her more. To be honest, it's strange that it is selling so much with only moderate radio support at the moment. We'll most likely see it fall off a little and rise again once it becomes a huge radio hit (which is inevitable - just look at Try). Harlem Shake too.
