Renie 7,909
It’s stuff like this that’s scaring the public! I don’t even know what to believe anymore and while I want the truth, it might be too much for people to swallow. I prefer the positive articles: https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/amid-growing-coronavirus-cases-another-number-increasing-recoveries-n1148126
POP2 4,206
Read the article!! It’s not nearly as scary as the headline.

Those twenty per cent are severe and critical. They end up on ventilators, for the most part. Those who have “moderate to severe” cases often end up with double pneumonia and symptoms that last for weeks. This is much more severe and threatening than the common flu. People do need to be cautious and prepared (but not panic) because it's a new strain of flu which is proven slightly more dangerous which is why experts are worried because they're still learning about it. The worst thing to do for ones mental health is to read social media as they report every new case / death. Notice how the media doesn't really like to report how many people have recovered? To put things into perspective there's a population of 7.5 billion and currently around 44000 have it which is 0.00058666666666667% of the population. Francesca Cipriani 1,668
And then there are some members here that dare to say "it's just a normal flu, don't worry" it's not, okay?

It is more dangerous than normal flu however the way the media report it is intentionally making people scared and panicked. Some people will get the virus and not realise it and brush it off as a bad cold (which a reason why it's spreading like it has), while others will get more severe symptoms. The fact is most people will not need to be hospitalized for it, just self isolate like you would if you had the flu.

Jose P 23,341
Don’t be gullible people, the headline is complete clickbait and the article is exaggerated and one more example of fear mongering. I’m not saying the virus isn’t something to look out for, but it’s nowhere near as bad as the media is portraying it. Y’all over there thinking this is some The Stand type of situation
