Young people will always be outvoted by older adults because they have the luxury of free time, we have jobs. The system is broken. Even as passionate as I am about politics, I only had a very specific 20 minute window during which I could vote. If there was a line, I would have been late for work and wouldn't have been able to. Further, I don't have a partner or kids to tend to, and am not currently in school. Idk about all states but in my state there was early voting EVERY SINGLE DAY from February 18-28. From 7AM-7PM EVERY DAY except Sunday where it was 1PM-6PM. MOST people who want to vote and can vote have an opportunity to vote. I agree it needs to be a holiday and it should be on a weekend BUT we also can't ignore that there ARE chances for people to vote and they don't do so. They own houses, businesses, have jobs, children, and are caring for their parents. Those age groups come out to vote at a much higher rate than 18-30. And to expand on that, you could vote at ANY polling location in the county. Which means you could be at work and go vote, vote before work, after work, literally any time. That is because Bernie Bros is all talk and no actions. They are so loud on social media. Just like how an empty tin can would make a lot of noise when you throw a pebble inside it. But where are they when their leader needed them the most?? They’d rather busy eating hot flaming cheetos or takis, and busy preaching about voting for Bernie and talk smart on twitter than actually doing it. They must love these attention it gives them. It is a known fact that many of young supporters of his are from poor family, so they are desperate, and desperate people are usually militant, delusional, and super defensive against things they believe. You can never touch them or correct them. I am all for voting blue. And I will vote for him if that is what it’s down to. But I’d still like to see how will they safe their faces when/if Bernie elected President and didn’t deliver all those promises that sensible people already know that it’s too good to be true. After all things they did, being extra and nasty to other people and burning bridges, even to their fellow Democrats friends. It might be a sight to see. We do offer absentee ballots, but otherwise our polls are open until 7p on election day, in the neighborhood you live in. In my rural state the "neighborhood voting locations" are often in the one school in the whole county and you gotta drive 20-30 minutes to get there There is no early voting and you have to have a "valid excuse" ahead of time prepared to mail-in.
