I mean, I'm just getting that from the verses. The pre-chorus and the chorus don't really give you a lot of info about what the song's about Whaaat? gfarabello 262
It's about letting go of barriers for love, embracing vulnerability and using the inner acceptance of pain that comes with it for being capable of loving more. The "stupid" adjective is a way of cursing the pride and resistance that comes when she tries to hold back her feelings and then completely fails in doing so. I think It's like: "look at me, I'm trying to hide my vulnerability and then I freak out". I'm saying this based on the interview she gave Apple Music last friday. She said something like loving someone and being vulnerable require courage. It goes in the direction of her conversation with Oprah about mental health and matches the concept of Chromatica as healing through music.
