It's about not needing a reason because all we ever wanted was love. :vegas:

Letting people in and being open to loving someone and being loved by someone?

I mean, I'm just getting that from the verses. The pre-chorus and the chorus don't really give you a lot of info about what the song's about

Whaaat?

When she says "hey-yah ey-yah" it hits me so hard :bradley:

It's about letting go of barriers for love, embracing vulnerability and using the inner acceptance of pain  that comes with it for being capable of loving more. The "stupid" adjective is a way of cursing the pride and resistance that comes when she tries to hold back her feelings and then completely fails in doing so.

Already did it, she secretly says "I'm Italian and my dad's restaurant is infested with Gretchen Rats. Stream Shallow." it's so touching :bradley:

It's like: "look at me, I'm trying to hide my vulnerability and then I freak out". I'm saying this based on the interview she gave Apple Music last friday. She said something like loving someone and being vulnerable require courage. It goes in the direction of her conversation with Oprah about mental health and matches the concept of Chromatica as healing through music.
