Just threaten and mention ageism/that they're being ageist when requesting and that'll have them scared :ohwell:

Free My Mind

this is a load of rubbish.

as the tune of the weekend, the song was played on every single regular show over the weekend - the station has speciality shows at the weekend which aren't going to play the song.

It will be playlisted when the playlists next change, bookmark me. All the presenters who have played it love it and said it would be playlisted.

Just the sun trying to cause some drama where there isn't any - colour me surprised.

Today it was played 5 times. That's more than pretty much anything else they play. With the exception, perhaps of Physical.

thanks for clearing this up! I did think that. so I'm assuming the song will impact UK radio from tomorrow like everywhere else?

Negative toned articles from the tabloids already?  That puts people off buying :fail:

I dunno, at least they're talking about radios not picking it up. At least it's not a negative article AGAINST Gaga. the only people this will turn off is the sun's readers, who are most gaga haters anyway. their comment sections are vile

I'm not sure when the playlists are created tbh. I just know that it's had a good start in UK radio with the two biggest pop radio stations in the UK (R1 and Capital) playing it several times each day since it's release. It may be added to a playlist when they are next updated or now that it is no longer 'tune of the weekend' they may just add it to a playlist. I dunno.

This is always the case when Gaga drops a single, unfortunately.

Radio 1 is a new music station so always favour new artists. That's why there's always the first to give British artists their major break to the mainstream way before anyone else (Adele, Florence, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran plus hundreds more).

The flip side of that is it's harder for older artists to get played and that, combined with the fact that they need to appeal to a younger demographic (Radio 2 is for the older demographic), means artists like Gaga need the younger audiences behind them to be played and therefore stay relevant.

Two things she could do to get more support are the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend (she's not performed there since 2011) and the Radio 1 Live Lounge (she's not done this since 2009!).

The downside is she NEEDS Radio 1's support as they're such a major player in the music market here in the UK.

Thank you.

This article is just silly. Radio 1 have been supporting her this weekend. Songs don't often get instantly added to their playlist upon release unless you're a  really big name in the UK and/or have some sort of relationship with R1. Gaga's relationship with them has been rocky since they haven't really supported her solidly for years now - during Joanne they barely played her at all despite her literally being on their show the morning that PI premiered.

The fact they made it Tune of the Weekend and played it five times today alone shows that they have a better feeling about this and indicates that it will likely get playlisted when they update the songs on their rota on Friday.

The last thing we wanna do as a fanbase is behave rabid and come after them.
