So far most cases have been traceable, only very few have unknown origin. We are also about to see if temperatures rising will slow it down, some predict it will, others predict it wont. I suggest everyone to go to r/COVID19, its a veeery good gathering of real information where panic, drama and most importantly, misinformation are modded out. Trust me, it'll reduce your anxiety. No one is inciting panic but this comparison to the seasonal flu is ridiculous. There is flu vaccine. People die because they are unvaccinated or because of their compromised immune system. The flu (at least the currently known influenza strains) will never reach pandemic. Whenever a new virus comes around scientists have to break their neck trying to decode its dna sequence and developing vaccine, while public health systems have to try and contain it. Viruses don’t just sit around waiting for you to eradicate them, and this particular new strain’s origin and transmission mode aren’t even clear. There’s also the risk of mutation if it manages to infect another species or adapt to harsher environments. The world only got so lucky with SARS. Can’t leave everything up to chance.
