I like the song a lot more than y'all do. I think it's a good, solid fun bop. However, I am surprised by how overwhelmingly positive the critics have been...even Pitchfork and NY Times gave her solid reviews (they usually are very harsh on her). It's kind of interesting that a great, but somewhat basic, bop is getting Gaga some of her best reviews of her entire career.

Edited: It's good, though, because positive critics equals positive media exposure.

I think it really depends on how SL does commercially. They chose a ballad as a second single during the Joanne Era cause PI didn't do that well so they tried something different and decided to scrap A-Yo. But if SL does well, they will definitely release another pop song. I just think it should have deeper lyrics or the only attention she's going to get will be from the GP.

March is too soon though. Unless she really doesn’t care about single longevity at all.

Official singles for big artists like Gaga should be at least 2 months apart, then more if the single is performing well.

If she wants to throw in some promo singles between now and the official second one.. cool! Im all for that. But throwing the second single in the water right when SL is hot seems like a bad choice (unless of course the songs are completely différent, à la ballad)

Maybe something might come out 3/2. Mr.S said that was going to be a significant date, and all the info we got from ReginaGeorge has been 100% right so far. I wouldn't be totally surprised tbh if they release a second single on Monday.

Tbh, I would cry tears of sadness if she released smth like MR again  . It had its amazing run and deserved success during Joanne era, but not now. LG6 - from what she said to Zane Lowe and what SL sounds like - is more like a danceable album - concept-wise a bit like Madonna's COADF. As we know Boys Noize and SOPHIE were seen in the studio with Gaga, so I hope we get a bit darker, experimental, yet still bop-worthy song as the 2nd single ( hell, even just as a promo single  ).

Currently, I'm a bit sick of ballads  . I mean, we got them in Joanne AND ASIB, so I wanna have a bit of a change here, for once at least

Million Reasons isn't any better lyrically than Perfect Illusion. Ballads =\= better songwriting.

But I do agree. Second single needs to have a certain level of quality. It needs to be better.

Yes 100% agree on the next song and i hope most of the albums lyrics are more complex and ‘weird’. I love deciphering her lyrics and the fact she doesn’t do basic pop. I love songs that have meaning and depth. Tbh I couldn’t think of another artist that would have a song like SL, even though it’s more on the simple side of lyrics, it’s very Gaga.

Except it totally is and not just cause it’s a ballad. I love PI but tbh it was too repetitive. MR has depth both in the verses and the chorus and it’s just a classic imo.
