CONFIRMED: Gaga will NOT appear on Kendrick Lamar's new album

I wouldn't doubt if she sat there with him temporarily and advised him as to how she'd like the video edited. I honestly think she tried hard with Marry the Night and failed. Creating her worst music video thus far, in my opinion.

Also I don't think shes better off without LAG. LAG + Gaga was pretty amazing most of the time. Her choreography and creative vision as of late has been a bit of a mess.

I imagine she did supervise quite a bit. A lot of directors will. As they should.

Anyways, I guess we'd have to go into specifics about why you think it's the worst, but I know for certain it's beautifully shot and edited--demonstrating an understanding of several Eisensteinian editing techniques. Most complaints I see about it are just about it being indulgent, but I've personally never understood why we wouldn't want artists to be indulgent. It's sorta their job. I think part of it for a lot of critics is still that they don't want their "pop stars" doing this sort of ****, but I think that's sort of what's great about it. Anyway, I fear I'm derailing this topic.

All I'll say is: even if you didn't like the video, the live performances and fashion of the MTN are hard to argue with, and the BTWB has certainly been well-received. I think it's hard to say she's creatively been a "mess" recently.

It's quite obvious that her ego drives her career now, moreso than before. If she wants to bring the same (not to shade her) "pretentious" attitude from the BTW era to ARTPOP, just with a b---hy Hollywood twist, ARTPOP is hardly going to be a mega-era her fans want.

Gaga needs to learn to compromise, that's what collaborations are about.

It's showing all over her work now though, between dead collabs, a lack of video directors, etc. she's showing that her ego is getting ahead of probably some really great projects/ideas.

It was classy and nice of her at first, but honestly I'm tired of her saying something is going to happen and then it doesn't and she apologizes :laughga: I see absolutely no reason why she can't leak a song name or some lyrics and state it outright. Something definite, anything at all! :cryga:

Most collaborations are annoyingly bad and pointless because the "feature" comes in and does one verse that may or may not actually have anything to do with the song, and then they walk away and don't give a crap what ends up happening as long as they get their check. Gaga clearly values REAL collaborations that mean something to her and the song. Yes, she has a strong vision and ego which prevent her from working well on simple collaborations, obviously. I'd rather that though then she turn into pitbull showing up in meaningless fashion on everyone elses records, or put out an album and remixes full of useless verses like Kanye's on ET. Obviously, she thought the Kendrick collab was going places that affected the integrity of the song as a meaningful collaboration, so she killed it.

And we can't completely blame Gaga for not being "collaborative", we have no idea what changes Kendricks team were trying to make. For all we know they stripped her vocal tracks from the original and were remixing them in a completely different fashion.

I think the cinematography was top notch. It looked like a high quality mini film from that aspect. But I don't think the video was fluid, I thought her acting and writing were atrocious (of course she likes to go for the ultra camp dialogue but nevertheless), and I thought the choreography didn't even at least coincide with the music. This song deserved a better fitting video, especially since its such an epic high energy track.

The live performances didn't do this song justice either. I think for a good portion of the live performances in the Born This Way era in general she put way way too much emphasis on the costume/visual aspects and gave the choreography and actual execution of the song significantly less importance which, in my opinion, was a huge mistake on her part. I'm not saying every performance of course.

As for the BTWB I haven't seen much of it on youtube, but i'm seeing it in person in January.

This is my piece on the whole PARTYNAUSEOUS extravagenza. First of all, Kendrick's team should not have tried to alter the music to the way Gaga didnt like it but secondly I am blaming Gaga. Gaga should not have even announced the collab at all until she was 100 % it was going to be released. Most of the time Gaga announces a collab it just ends up being dissapointment central first with The Greatest Thing with Cher and now this collaberation.

Also if the first single from ARTPOP isn't coming until 2013, then I wish Gaga could give us more in depth album info. I mean come on. We now have absolutly no new music whatsoever.

you are basically simultaneously blaming her for early announcements, and then asking for early announcements.

Album info is different then announcing a song on a specific release date and then not releasing it at all.

LAG was great as a choreographer, Matthew was a great artistic director, and the TEOG director had great credentials.

Too bad all of that disappeared from petty spats, I doubt it's all because of them.

To be honest. It's Gaga's work. If she doesn't like then why put it out? Let her be the artist.

People like Ke$ha and Rihanna are like 'this is the title of new of my new album, it's comming out next month!!'. We already know the name "ARTPOP" and the album is still so far away.

She shouldn't say anything more about ARTPOP tbh. Cause then she might tell us things again that she isn't 100% sure of OR little monsters will take it out of context (omg the fame commercial isn't a scheisse music video??). It will just lead to more disappointment. She should just shut the f u c k up about ARTPOP.
