A lot of it looked on the cheap and tacky side (and please don’t kid yourself thinking it’s intentional, it’s not). Personally I think gaga has plateaued visually and conceptually, but I’ve been thinking this for a while. I don’t blame her, how do you top yourself when you’re responsible for so many iconic looks throughout the years... not everybody has that. What I do know for an absolute fact is that if any other artist released a video like this, this forum would be feeling rather different about it. DrewPa 3,762 Posted February 28, 2020 Share Posted February 28, 2020 I suppose they decided to release a short version of the video to push the streams, it's far easier for everybody to listen and stream the track if the video includes just the song. But I suppose there will be a much longer video that will be released after. There are so many hints that are left unexplained (the different colored symbols, to mention one) The video is cute, I take it as a taster for a much wider project that will be unveiled in the following weeks. She needs to go back to doing fun dance music" LM's when she does exactly that: "oh my god her creativity is so gone, shes just selling out to get streams. She must feel a bit dumb doing these antics for her crazed monsters, but she will; because she wants their stupid love. This set such a fun, care-free tone to open the era. It's not competitive, it's not concerned, it doesn't even warrant criticism to be honest. Despite all that, this is going to succeed, no doubt. And it's because it's coming from such a genuine place. I love this. The lyrics "now it's time to free me from the chain" definitely makes sense with this post. Gaga isn't the same girl after ASIB and Joanne, and that's not a bad thing. She looks incredible, the choreography is great too (you better learn it bitches). The costumes!! It’s an IDEAL video for this song! Not very creative tho, but still a fun and dancy video. The camera angle could've been better. Love the choreo. Where is the red outfit? Are we getting second music video? The promo picture with the samurai-like outfit and the storyline, are they part of a longer video she's planning to release later on? It felt disjointed to me. The visuals are beautiful, and I love the avante-garde outfits, but it feels a bit all over the place. The visuals are there, the banger song is there, but it felt like there was no direction at all. It’s a short video with a shallow storyline- and it’s meant to be that way. This makes it more streamable and more appealing to the GP. Hardcore Gaga fans willl either love it or rip it apart, while the GP will see it as classic Gaga. . She gave us what so many of us were wanting- choreo, fashion and fun. Her vocals sound good here too. It’s just a shallow fun pop song, which is what so many pop fans have been craving.
