I think that might be the case tbh. And it’s kind of perfect, really. Shallow showed that she is still popular without even being a radio friendly song - I don’t think Radio 1 even playlisted it. Capital certainly didn’t. But it was an absolute smash regardless. Shallow was a real blessing for her.
