If they're going to unfairly malign him,  I don't  think it's necessary for Bernie to attend  any debate.

Overall I don't think this debate was very good or do anything to change the state of the race. All the candidates performed average to below average.

Bernie easily swept off every attack thrown against him and came out as strong as he was going in. He didn't do super great but he didn't lose either which is basically a win considering his frontrunner status.

Warren disappointed after her performance of the last debate. Her attacks didn't land as good I don't think. She did average overall.

Amy sounds like she's ready to drop out already.

Tom seemed irrelevant. Nothing stuck out.

Pete brought his same platitudes and fluff that never ultimately says anything. He also came off super bratty  and was the big loser of the night.

Bloomberg apparently bought off the crowd and did average or below average.

Biden did decent enough but I'm not so sure it was enough to save him. Perhaps he'll skate by and ultimately win SC.

I'm glad this is the last debate at least for a little bit. By the time the next one comes this primary might well be effectively over.

I’m going to be honest: I don’t think anyone landed a really solid blow on Bernie. We’ve heard all of this nonsense before and he dismantled the attacks pretty well. It was a mess, but I don’t think this fundamentally changed anything about the race.

How come he's right about the fact that all those things he mentioned (universal healthcare, free education, etc.) are simply considered the standard in many other MEDCs, though? How is it utopian if it happens in so many other countries?

2020 USA is what needs to be addressed... what happens over there or way back when has little to do with this...

I expected rape essay mess, so tbh just "castro" "guns" and "how to pay for anything" isn't moving the needle.

Media will fixate on castro for a few more days or so then drop it.

The loser tonight is CBS and the moderators. If I had to pick a candidate, it was Pete for not saying anything substantive the whole night other than that one pro imperialism answer :deadbanana: He just tried to interrupt every single person to attack Bernie all night.

His career as a future annoying person in the media or running for an office again is secured, Third Way can relax :emma:

Let me ignore every website calling winners/losers for now and just look at post debate coverage and polling later :emma:

rumours

So this is how I think they did:

People who did well:

1. Biden

2. Klobuchar

3. Bernie

People who did meh/blah:

4. Steyer

5. Warren

People who did poorly:

6. Bloomberg

People who were absolutely insufferable:

7. Pete

Tbh I don't think there were any real "winners" tonight

The fact nothing stuck or landed against Bernie and he came out with the same standing I guess could mean he won by default but idk.

so .. like …. Bernie's plan's are gonna require 60 trillion in gov. spending ...

hmm... rich people gonna have to pay more,  middle class gonna have to pay more... po people gonna have to pay more … so we can get 'free' health care ...

mmmmmmmkaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy

But everyone saves more overall when copayments, deductibles and premiums are gonna be cancelled

people w 29k a year and under wont be affected, so no, po will be fine.

I love him, you know, but he still hasn’t adequately explained that. The moderates plans will cost more and offer a two tier system where the rich will get better care and regulars won’t, but he needs to say that. Also that fact he’s onky accounted for half...

I can’t tell if that’s true or not. What’s that all about?

Either way tho, every option we have doesn’t seem cheap.

But this IS addressing 2020 USA: a country where healthcare is prohibitively costly, where 27 million people are uninsured, where student loan amounts to a staggering 1.5 trillion dollars and 45 million people have student debt, which in turn contributes to expanding the wealth gap. But please tell me what other contemporary issues are more important, go ahead.

Uhuh … math experts will have a field day with this ….

Total 'savings' to people who don't pay anything already isn't …

only abusers and con artists will 'profit' from this ...

the few people who actually need help are still gonna have money taken out of their paycheck 'before' the even get it ...

yes .. but using the arguments that it works for … we did it back when have no weight as to current issues .. you can't solve todays problems with old remedies or foreign counties methods …

seriously these argument only delude the  issue ,,,,

USA spends x dollars for social services …

USA collects x dollars from tax revenue ...

there is a big difference in Bernie's  proposal and the real situation … he's politician telling people great things will happen with his plan,

I'm betting reality will be much much much different...
