Almost every comments from the previous page are transphobic. It's not acceptable in a so-called "pro-LGBT" forum.

I think people take the pro-LGBT in the wrong way. Being pro LGBT doesn't mean you have to be pro everything they come with. That's not how life works.

But gender really isn’t a social construct.     ????          You either are or aren’t one thing and that’s factual nor argumentative

Firstly, you're confusing sex and gender.

Sex is the biological and anatomical components that people are born with. We then ascribe genders based on these components and society subsequently forces ideas of masculinity and femininity onto those gender ideals which include everything from dress, mannerisms, to behaviors, values, emotions, and so on.

Also, sex itself is more complicated than "male or female". You realize that not every human being is born male or female, right? There are many people born everyday with genitalia from both sexes, and many people born "intersex" who don't belong to either of the binary sexes we take for granted and assume to be the only two. Look it up if you don't believe me, search the term intersex.

So no, it's not either one or the other, and yes it's argumentative and you're wrong.

Bloody hooker

I’m conflicted about this. It’s great that Google is going to be inclusive, but couldn’t this cause an issue if someone is searching specifically for something? Maybe they would focus on sex (male/female) instead of gender (man/woman)?

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.

Confusing the majority to appease the few :saladga:

I'm surprised so many on GGD would actually view it like this

Personally I also think certain things about gender and PC culture are starting to go overboard (depending on what the situation is exactly) but...

I don't like fighting about it so I just leave it... I only quoted u cuz I was surprised to see at least 3 comments like this in 1 page :selena:

Didn’t say it was just male or female 🙄.      I’m just saying when y’all start taking this stuff way beyond what it is now the future is gonna be no make or females, sexes, genders and or names.

Exactly where I’m at, I don’t care and support a lot but when people take it to the extremes and do it for the underlying cause just the be the minority of the minority and shout hey look at me I’m different so I’m special and don’t you dare confuse my super confusing ideas I’ve made up for myself god forbid

Gee, the same society that 'constructed' gender is the same one that is now dismantling it- doesn't that at least make you want to discuss, think, and learn? Does anyone who feels marginalized or a victim of 'the machine' (to be clear, there is no sarcasm in that statement; there are very real victims in this and almost every situation) truly believe that blindly following the path that GOOGLE says is right, is a path that ends with them winning?

I understand how hard and frustrating it must be to think that someone like a gay man could ever say or do something that might result in a world that is less tolerant of diversity or love. Unfortunately, it should be obvious that words like 'inclusion' are being weaponized when *GOOGLE* is making a choice, one that should ultimately go against their corporate agenda (constructing gender would be to the benefit of corporations for the purposes of advertising, as one easy example), to have their AI be gender-neutral, *YOUTUBE* is determining content that is suitable for viewers, etc. It seems so easy to remember that corporations and billionaires are for the most part immoral and make no decisions that end in losing money for their stakeholders until they use a weaponized word. Then, suddenly, GOOGLE and YOUTUBE are our authorities on morals.

We have been dealt an incredibly difficult hand to be living in the world we do in 2020. I faced a lot of discrimination as a gay man growing up and can't imagine how much worse it would be to have been, or be, trans. But, I also can't imagine living in a society where words are so divisive and so dangerous that we lose sight of the big picture and big fight. I can want the best for every person, while questioning why GOOGLE has become a godlike fixture in our culture. I want to talk and learn. I don't want to be led into a hell created by the very monsters who created it.

I'm confused. What would gender really help anyway? A biological man who transitions can look like a biological woman, and vice versa. This isn't meant to determine biological sex, and it won't be able to. It won't ID someone like Kim Petras as 'male'.

The prejudiced gays of GGD showing themselves again I see :triggered:

And using the same talking points originally used against gay people.

You'd think gay people would be understandable given the prejudice and discrimination against them but I guess nahh

Like why should and how could AI determine such things anyway based on PICTURES? Do it based on stereotypes of masculinity and femininity? Those stereotypes themselves are social constructions and not even necessarily related to physical anatomy.

Funny how people like you fight against assuming genders but are quick to assume sexual orientation of others:ally:
