Moreover, Warren is stronger than Bernie in a few ways, while Bernie is stronger than Warren in many ways. They're both good candidates who will have disingenuous attacks hurled at them if they advance. Maybe to you they appear to be scaled equally But I see a distinct difference Bernie is more consistent hasn't really swayed on anything Warren has. I think Bernie is better than Liz by atleast some margin. In 2016 he wanted her to run against Hillary but she choose not to so he did and from there on there's been some tension between them I guess. And she endorsed Clinton for political expedience at that time. Even though she claims to be progressive. Sing C'est la vie
HorusRa2 5,005
The people who continue to say that Warren is the better candidate keep forgetting (and everyone tends to forget this, actually) that the role of President is 2 things. They set the tone and agenda for their party in the legislative branch (and presumably the legislative branch moves forward in that direction, but not always obviously). And they are also the commander in chief. Warren has provided nearly zero evidence that she has the judgement to be commander in chief and what record she does have with regard to foreign policy is almost exclusively bad. That is not to say that Bernie's record is perfect, but that his record is better. An argument can be made that (in general) Bernie/Warren have similar domestic agendas, though the details matter. Bernie's programs are more pure left wing worldview and progressive than Warrens. But where they diverse is how they will get things done. Warren wants to operate within the current system (that has been in gridlock for decades) and manipulate the pulleys and levers of the current system to bring about change. Bernie's view is that the system does not work due to how the system came to be. His view is that outside pressure from the people as well as the bully pulpit and budget reconciliation tools will get his agenda passed as well as executive orders (where constitutional). @TheQueenLG& @ItsTommyBitch - why the LMAO? I'm not quite sure I follow.

I also agree with you that Bernie is more consistent - that is one of the strengths I was alluding to. Warren has more detailed plans in terms of domestic policy and has a better plan to implement them (end the filibuster) instead of Bernie's radical idea (forcing the VPOTUS to override the Senate Parliamentarian). Another strength of Bernie is his foreign policy. I'm not aiming to be discordant here... We are in agreement, sweetie. Bernie has many strengths, as does Warren. At this point, I think Bernie is edging out on top, but I keep my mind open.

I'm not sure that I would call Bernie's idea radical. It is untested but not radical.

Democratic socialism does not describe Bernie and is going to result in him receiving endless criticism. It's a stupid move strategically. So I laughed my as* off at your post. Make sense? As for policy, I mostly agree with you. I slightly prefer Warren's domestic policies due to her implementation strategies. But I substantially prefer Bernie's foreign policies. Ending the filibuster, as Warren proposes, is a much more democratic solution than what Bernie is proposing. Simply commanding the VPOTUS to override the Senate Parliamentarian is a dangerous precedent that should be avoided if we are to imagine the US ever having a GOP POTUS in the future. Letting the vice president decide the Senate's rules is dangerous to the separation of powers.

So, no, I don't think that's funny and I didn't say that it was right or wrong of him to do so. Ending the filibuster has its own set of problems when you are also not in power. So, when the time comes after it is ended and the democrats lose the majority, they won't be excited that the filibuster was removed. (I'm also waiting to see how Warren has more detailed plans). Ending the filibuster is democratic. Whoever has a majority in the Senate benefits, no matter their party. You could make the argument that the Senate is undemocratic by design, but that’s a different conversation. Bernie’s proposal would set the precedent that the VPOTUS can literally overrule any Senate rules that they please. This corrupts the separation of powers in dangerous ways. When a Republican gets in office in the future ALL senate rules would be in jeopardy. Narrowly eliminating one Senate rule by nuking the filibuster, as Warren proposes, wouldn’t compromise the entirety of the Senate rules in the future. Im going shopping rn so I don’t have time to point out specific policies... maybe later, sweetie.

Lion Heart 15,041
I finally got to watch it on YouTube. What an absolute disaster for Bloomberg. Everyone piled up on him and he didn't have a good rebuttal. I think the moderator was unfair to Klobuchar when she asked her about not knowing the Mexican President's name. Like ok we get it, she made a mistake- no need to drag this out further. Warren definitely had a good debate. She distinguished herself and really went after Bloomberg and Pete I believe. I did not like Pete and Amy's back and forth- especially since there was an immigration question posed earlier. Lastly, I think Democrats need to be careful with the fracking question. While I dont support the practice, I recognize that there are thousands of jobs tied to it and several them are in the Rust Belt, which we need in order to kick Trump out of office. "But climate change1!!" isn't really a convincing answer to a lot of the people working those jobs- we need a better approach. If we can do that, I think we can win MI, WI, PA, and maybe another state. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀

JusKeepBreathin 19,311
Ok so the Judge who overturned stop in frisk in NY was just interviewed on MSNBC on Ari's show. She said Bloomberg was wrong when he said that he reduced stop and frisk by 95%. The courts rullings reduced stop and frisk by 67%. And actually Bloomberg tried to fight the judge's stop and frisk ruling. Also Biden was wrong when he said Obama appointed someone to over look stop and frisk. It was the judge who appointed the person for that. Biden and Bloomberg need to go. He quotes him often, was part of the civil rights movement alongside MLK and many others. I think it mostly stems from the quote below. I don't think it's so much of a false-branding so much as that he identified with the beliefs of MLK so strongly that he's unwilling to let that go. “Call it democracy, or call it democratic socialism, but there must be a better distribution of wealth within this country for all God’s children.” I honestly don't know what I "lmao" reacted at. I vaguely recall there being some kind of joke in this post, but I don't see it now I've also been running on fumes for like 2 days so its possible I thought I "love" reacted Idk 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
