February 11 is the 10th anniversary of the tragic loss of British fashion designer Lee Alexander McQueen.

McQueen was born in Lewisham, London in March 1969, the youngest of six children. He committed suicide in 2010 at his London home in Mayfair at the age of 40.

McQueen founded his namesake label in 1992 at the tender age of 22, and was appointed to lead Givenchy in 1996, after John Galliano’s departure for Christian Dior. McQueen returned to London to be fully devoted to his own label in 2001.

LaMaisonGaga

Woke up this morning, realized that and truly shed a tear, without trying to sound too dramatic.

It‘s just the fact that him and Gaga would be the bestest of friends by now. He would‘ve designed her tour looks, they would be seen out & about together and she‘d probably be his muse.

Long live Lee, maestro.

He was a genius.

Fashion truly lost an icon.

The oyster dress is one of my all time favourites.

My favorite piece from McQueen were the heels that Gaga wore in the Bad Romance MV.. They were so unique and so cool.

Lord Temptation

His death really shook the fashion industry and left a huge vacuum in the world of art and pop. The 2010s was culturally like a funeral.

People stopped dressing like an individual.

The death of indie rock.

The death of the hipster.

The death of Amy Winehouse in 2011.

No wonder Gaga only wore black in 2011.

Haroon

I just finished watching the Netflix documentary on him last night  Still remember finding out and being shocked, it was when I’d recently become interested in fashion and his stuff stunned me in the best way. Amazing talent and creator. The team continuing his legacy are doing him justice also :applause:
