Um quick question,... How do you know she isnt LGBT?

ok. is that really a question you need to ask though... :awkney: I'll bet my left testicle she is not lgbt.

@Economy @Gov Hooka I actually agree with both of you and Disagree. I think you both make good points in a lot of your replies.

Personally, sometimes being kind to those who are hateful is a waste of time. But so is wasting so much energy being angry and lashing out at them. And a lot of times, neither solve absolutely anything

It may be a waste of energy but it's short and ends in ignoring the bigot. I'm fine with that. Better than wasting WAY MORE energy and WAY MORE time trying to have a conversation that goes nowhere. Again it's not my job to educate people about why homophobia is wrong. It's 2020 if you still believe that b.s. you're a willful bigot. "Being kind" or "killing them with kindness" is a naive way to approach so many of these situations.

I agree with you completely, but it's just funny to me that MANY of the users on this site including the Admin don't believe the same thing for Muslims. I wonder why....

Yeah I was just thinking about this.  Saying things like, "She's a Christian, what do you expect." is almost like saying "They're muslim, what do you expect."

I won't elaborate on that because I don't want WP, but I hope it makes sense the point I'm trying to make.

another predictable response about respecting homophobes coming from you. You are literally ALWAYS making the case of why trash people should be defended and demonizing those who have the absolute right to be offended and policing their reactions. I mean seriously I've seen you complain more about how people have "that kind of behavior" rather than going after the bigotry and cause of that behavior...  No duh this woman could handle it. She's not lgbt, she's a white, Christian ally :ladyhaha: She's barely faced anything in life... Of Course she's going to handle it the way she did... And she gained nothing from the conversation. It's not our jobs to get conservatives to listen. It's their jobs to not be judgemental dicks... This woman was so bigoted and delusional that she would never listen in the first place. I mean keep dying on the cross for the self victimization narrative pushed by conservatives who feel "attacked" all the time

Also slapping this dumb bitch is my GGD reaction. In real life, I would politely curse her out, turn away, and let the white Christian Nancy have that pointless conversation. But again, you're going to be more offended by my reaction to homophobia rather than the homophobia itself :bye:

I don't defend any homophobia I don't even know what comments ur refering to this is totally false!

What I don't like is people acting like animals with no civility and that's a rising trend in society that frankly bugs me so I call it out

I have never defended bigotry stop making things up

What ive talked about is how to handle matters because I don't like violence and I don't like agression. there nothing wrong with pointing that out

Me calling out agressive behaviour more frequently than I may have homophobia may seem to you like I'm taking some conservative side but it isn't. It's simply because GGD is already overwhelmingly progressive so there isn't much need to tell ppl to be accepting but there's a lot here that do defend agression (like you it seems)

That's why.

And if me not agreeing with a certain way of acting is enough for your to jump to the conclusion that I'm defending homophobia then u are probably among the SJWs I'm talking about

I applauded her way of handling it that's it. I can have my opinion about the right way of handling things. Sorry that triggers u so much and is so bothersome for u :saladga:

This whole video was so frustrating :rip: I hate that the volunteer had to keep saying she "respected her opinion." I understand that she's trying to gain supporters and it's all part of the job but I could never have held my tongue

Hey, as a christian and straight, I can say that not all christians are homophobic, my parents are respectful with lgbt people and me too, and we are christian, please don't generalize, and someone said here that christians are the worst, how you can say that if even gaga is Chistian and there are respectful christians, even gay christians, please don't generalize.

you literally post multiple threads and comments naively preaching about civility and demonizing "SJW's"

It's a recurring thing I've seen from you that gives me the vibe that you frequently love to police people's reactions in some "holier than thou" manner. It's annoying quite frankly :saladga:

You end up defending bigotry when you tell someone that their reaction to the bigotry was wrong. You shouldn't be wasting your time trying to tell someone how to react. You should be spending the time then if you're able to "not act like an animal" talking to the bigot in question. You're twisting and shifting the subject of the conversation away from the bigotry and towards how people react to the  bigotry and clearly making gross comments about how people "act like animals." That ends up defending bigotry and lowkey victim shaming the person for lashing out. It's also a common ploy that conservative people use in discourse to self victimize themselves and get away with what they said by demonizing someone else as some "rabid SJW." a really dumb buzzword btw... :awkney:  GGD is a space filled with MANY queer people who will lash out when they see b.s. like this and who don't need comments from you saying myopic phrases like "thank you for handling it kindly" like some approving parent. you applauded her way of handling it, while policing my reaction and quoting me, and quite frankly, it's not your place to tell me how to react to homophobia

Because in my opinion this SJW culture that u think is a buzz word to me is becoming a big problem.

I think I shouldn't waste my time I disagree. I think ppls reactions are at question too

I don't see these issues so black and white like conservatives are the only ones causing problems and progressives are the victim saints all the time

In either side ppl can act badly and I think some ppl when they have good intentions do end up being overly agressive

That's my opinion. If u don't agree we might as well leave it at that

I'm allowed to voice my opinion and in my opinion some aspects of liberal culture are becoming extremely toxic among some especially ever since social media was born

Conservative, moderate or Liberal... I'm not taking sides. There's issues I feel I see all across the spectrum

sorry but there are multiple conservative issues I cannot "see." if you want to "see" their side on homophobia, racism, classism, Islamophobia... be my guest then :awkney: but don't try and tell me how I can and cannot react :bye:It's not your job to police reactions and it's annoying. The thing is tho, homophobia isn't something small.  Reacting angrily to homophobia isn't a SJW move imo. Reacting in violence is never the answer, of course, but getting angry and not putting up with their bs is a totally natural response to bigotry.

I do agree, that in a lot of cases civility is absolutely needed. Because any time anyone disagrees about the slightest thing it turns into a huge argument where people write or say all sorts of nasty things. And that every party is Equally as bad. If someone's viewpoint is not rooted on hate, I dont think there should be any reason to respond angrily

When I said SJW I wasn't not refering Soley to issues of homophobia specifically. It was a bit more generalized

It was the fact that he's making assumptions that I was defending the conservative homophobia JUST because I said I like how she handled it and that I think that's how it should be done and don't like agression

I was refering to SJWs as in those ppl that wanna start something or jump to conclusions sometimes with minimal evidence and then accuse u of being some kind of conservative sympathizer.

That was my main reason for bringing up SJW culture. For that accusation for something as small as trying to have another perspective

Sometimes u can agree with 80% of what someone says and they totally go off on u for the other 20% u have a different perspective on. To me that is Social Justice Warrior like and I believe SJW culture is real and annoying AF

I can't even support Bernie Sanders (my fav candidate) without questioning how far he wants to take some specific stuff (like certain taxes) and how it could potentially backfire without from time to time being dragged to the ground for being some "conservative rantist" as a user had the audacity to call me

I agreed with 90% of Bernie's platform... I questioned maybe 10% in terms of the threshold to go to like jezz

That's the kind of thing I think is wrong with progressive culture (at least the most extreme individuals)...

These agressive opinions and purity tests are annoying as f*ck :saladga:

I've said this several times on here before, and I'm going to say it again.  Please don't assume all Christians are like this just because they are the loudest.  Some of us are more like the other very kind woman in the video. There are very closed minded people that aren't even religious.  Closed minded doesn't necessarily mean you're a Christian.  Just like you can be open minded and Christian.

I wholeheartedly agree. I have no problem with religious people who aren’t like this woman, people who don’t let their religious beliefs stop people from living their non-threatening truth; I really don’t believe all religious people are like this. Religions like certain sects of Christianity and Islam however, statistically influences people to be more closed minded about issues like this while non-religious tend to be more open minded about things like same-sex marriage and science. The woman in this video shows that, using her Bible as a shield for being bigoted.

Again no attacks on religious people as a whole, but certain ones along with certain religious teachings, I just can’t turn a blind eye to.
