I was gonna watch this but I’d rather see an unbiased list of said laws. What are some of the new laws that stood out to you?

California is a sh*thole. This is a perfect example of the nonsense we have to deal with in this state.

“I was born and raised in California. When I realized the Democrats policies were responsible for the economic problems I was experiencing while living there I made a smart decision, I left the state. As soon as I moved to a Republican controlled state my economic status and livelihood improved tremendously. I will never go back to California...so long as it remains a Democrat shitopia!”

Yeah... this person is an idiot :awkney:

The source tho  :awkney:

The bias jumped out

A law is a law. U can't be biased with stating th law

Usually the problem with biased videos is how they spin it if it's positive or negative. In that aspect this video is opinionative

But Frankly on YouTube almost every single source is biased anyway. I've yet to see YouTubers that are truly neutral. If it was a left wing biased channel y'all wouldn't jump on this so fast :emma:

OT: California's minimum wage is far from too high given the cost of living and economy there

You want 8 year olds in jail? I thought conservatives were all about putting precious children first.

She chose news videos and commentary that supported her opinions. Laws aren’t biased, I agree. However, she chose to deceive her viewers including the good sis who posted this.

Here’s how you state the law. Here’s her one sided opinion and over-dramatically saying “dystopian.” This is for the first 8 minutes. I’ll do the next eight minutes if y’all want.

Law: Not suspend first through fifth graders for willfully defying teachers or administrators.

Millie: This is a dystopia and kids can’t be spanked.

Law: In 2021-2025, same law will temporary carry over for 6-8th graders.

Millie: More hoodlums. Equates it to juvenile hall. Says criminals will recruit kids under 12 for drugs.

Law: Illegal to smoke on beaches and national parks. $25 fine for violators.

Millie: This will generate more money for the state.

Law: Health coverage for anyone under 25.

Millie: Brings up Illegals and how they’ll “flood to California.” Plays a video of ppl crossing border and plays a Mexican song.

Law: $13. $12 for small business hours. Small companies won’t be able to pay $15

Millie: Says companies won’t be able to pay for higher wages and healthcare. Millie says this money will come from nowhere.

Law: Private contractors could be carried over to be treated as full employers.

Millie: Companies with less than 26 employees can’t pay for workers comp so that’s why they get hired as contractors.

Law: Anti vaccine parents have a harder time to get vaccine exemptions for their kids.

Millie: The state will “crack down” (she sarcastically used air quotes) on doctors who fraudulently write vaccine exceptions.

I get it. YouTubers put their own spin all the time (some more than others) on whether it's positive or not

I was merely responding to the fact that comments were complaining about the source

In terms of the law itself it's still accurate

Unless the whole point of the thread was just to debate it's impacts rather than the law

But tbh I follow many YouTube accounts (both right and left wing alike) and not one of them is fully unbiased

Even more serious and preffesional like outlets (like the young Turks) have some bias...

Even tho TV can be biased at times too... It's still way more neutral than YouTubers that's for sure

Those that chafe at the pro conservative tilt are clearly liberal

Opinion is normal … and this particular piece is clearly anti liberal????

or …

Liberal bias is clearly anti anything but their own tilt ….

a neutral view shows the up and down side of said new laws …

the down side to the child punishment laws are the people who 'will' exploit it to slide past criminal enterprise punishment … plain an simple ..

the up side is that children with problem behaviors will get another chance and not be railroaded down a life of institutionalized segregation …  criminal records before they become adults and realize they need to shaped up …

The minimum wage law ...

down side is the middle class entrepreneurs are struggling to begin with ,  total operational costs exceed revenue and adding costs isn't helping one little bit …

net result is that larger corporations benefit from less competition and can exploit the current laws more easily because of the tax breaks and loopoles they get …

widening the gap between wealthy and wiping out middle class ….

the up side ...

people who do actually get said jobs are guaranteed enough revenue to pay bills in a spiriling economy ..

I was hoping to hear some intelligent rebuttal regarding topics outlined but that seems to be missing in many of the members who post … (not all)

Health Care for anyone under 25 ….

up side

Great benefit … will attract many people to the state regardless of citizenship.

down side

will attract many people who will exploit the system and not really contribute to the states economy as a whole ..

If they can screen out the abusers and refine 'health care' to include preventative life styles it should be a winner ...

I have less faith in the medical system's real purpose …. Bernie Sanders spin her is right ...

It looks like another way to leech more tax revenue from the economy to line corrupt politicans pockets and further kill the middle class ..
