Chesescake 4,283
Recently, online artist @leaillex shared their experience of being accused of using AI generated images on Draw Market, an art-commission platform. Considering the trend of AI bros scammer posing as clients to steal artists' work, they ask to discuss a commission's sketch and concept in further detail, only to steal artists' sketches, PSD files, or even public available timelapse videos. They feed then these materials into generator and block the artist without a word. The artist explained to the accuser that they couldn't provide any further proof due to this very issue, only for the accuser to repeat the same accusation, even after artist had posted their sketch in the chat (if you're an artist, don't share your stuff like that.) For now, this newly created account has been reported and taken down. But this is just one of the many cases in which people out there shamelessly pressure artists into showing their process and thought so they can use it to make some ugly ass video game pron poster Ghibli-style ass pictrue, claim all the credit, and treat artists like some firewood to be thrown into a fireplace. This is truly a sucky time to be a person who like to draw.
bxr 3,758
Whew, it was lonely out here on “You sound like AI” accusation island … but then Leaillex articulated her truth and suddenly I don’t feel so alone anymore … Humans who curate words and symbols in a pattern that GenAI has aggregated, usurped, and flooded the marketplace for false authority—rise up creative denizens It really is a wilde interwebular out there when humans accuse humans of being artificial because an algorithm intercepted social communication networks … Lessons never losses!
CautiousLurker 19,990
This is more or less a weekly occurrance at this point - it really seems that unless it's your peers, refuting ai accusations is not even worth it - even if you shove a timelapse in front of them, people will presist simply because they've made up their mind and plain don't like you BUT this is probably a good reason to never share pieces in full resolution, definitely keep samples small till you get fully paid Just an aside - I beg people PLEASE learn what an actual timelapse looks like - ai generated timelapses are still extremely obvious, and yet I see poeple get duped by them, as well as question real timelapses If I had to give one very obvious sign to look out for for people who don't paint/draw - if you see a very wonky sketch suddenly turn into extreemly clean lineart - squint It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!
hamartia 3,609
Since Nitter is no more and I can't stealth scroll twitter without an account, I've unintentionally found myself scrolling Reddit and I see a lot of 'is this AI?' posts re: digital art - and it's just a snake eating its own tail at this point. The posts will have all kinds of random circles all over them saying that X anatomical structure is wrong so it must be AI, or the anatomy is too perfect so it must be AI. People are hand wringing over the smallest details whilst major companies are putting out ads where everyone only has left hands like it's nothing lol The desire was to further create a low trust society and it's working great "I lied. I lied!" (Germanotta, 2025) 2
