Chromatica 7,042
The debate over what Pete meant by “we’re going to New Hampshire victorious” seems so useless. No one can know what was actually meant. He never explicitly said that he won the popular vote, the SDEs, whatever. There is no fact basis that we can settle this argument with. Some will say that he was being purposely and deceitfully vague for some free media coverage, and others will say that he was reacting to his strong internal numbers that would legitimize his campaign regardless of if he placed first or second. I personally don’t understand the negative reactions that his early declaration of victory has garnered. Many of the people in this thread who have criticized this move even acknowledged that his speech could’ve very well meant that he performed well without necessarily placing first. He even elaborated on it the next morning basically implying that his declaration of victory didn’t mean that he was certain he was in first place, but that the results would make people see him as a serious player in this primary. A lot of people chose to say he was “walking back” his original statement, and that’s their prerogative. It’s not like he could’ve known that this would go on for several days. All we know is that he and Bernie will leave Iowa effectively tying with the same amount of delegates, meaning that if we were to choose to interpret his words as a declaration of a first place victory that he was technically correct. I don’t think he had an obligation to substantiate this with any evidence, but in any case he was the first candidate to release findings from their internal reporting. But we can go back and forth with this forever because this is so trivial and unimportant. I just contributed to such a pointless discussion by writing this. There are so many other things we could be focusing on. Pete’s campaign couldn’t have known that they were going to withhold these votes for so long when he made that speech. Why don’t we instead focus on the fact that the results have been released in a way that has purposely positioned Pete in front of Bernie all the way up to 97% reporting and then stopped once there was a .1% difference between them? Because that’s the real reason Pete is surging in the polls, not the media coverage he got by declaring an ambiguous victory.
Chromatica 7,042
So it’s being reported that Michael Bennet got 1 vote in the final round. How is that possible? How could he have been viable with one vote? Did people go to his section in the first round, making him viable, and then leave his section? That doesn’t make sense to me. Someone please essplain. I convinced an entire county to vote for my boi Michael. All it took was a shiny black hat and a pristine coin collection.

ItsTommyBitch 12,640
They really will not let Sanders win this thing w.o burning the entire party down in the process it seems Unfortunately, we're not voting for someone who we know will lose the general election like Mayor Pete or Biden 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

The mess comes from the counting of votes, and releasing the information in the most messiest way possible. Plus many counts of discrepancies shown. So currently they are releasing the results in a VERY slow painstakingly way.
Buddy 5,686
Welp. It's over. Bernie lost by 1.5 SDEs. He still won the popular vote by 6,000 though, and Biden's demise positioned him as the clear #1.
Morphine Prince 109,683
WELL, Pete pulled through at 100% reporting. Bernie won the popular vote by 6,000 votes. He won in my book. 90 pages later and we finally got the full results.
