Bernie did win the popular vote on both the first and final alignments. In other words, Bernie did get the most votes out of the entire caucus. The reason Pete has won more delegates than Bernie is due to a statewide math problem. Say there were 300 people in a room. Say a precinct has 6 delegates. Say Bernie got 120 votes. To get the state delegate equivalents you multiply the votes Bernie has by the number of delegates and then divide it by the number of total people in the room. In my example here, Bernie would get 2.4 delegates. In caucus delegate allocation, they do not do decimals but they round up or down. So in my example, Bernie gets 2 delegates. Let's say Pete got 80 votes. This means he would get 1.6 delegates. So he gets 2 delegates as well. So even though Bernie got 40% of the vote in a precinct and Pete got 26.6% of the popular vote, they both got the same number of delegates. The reason Pete got more state delegates is that in the states that Bernie won big, the number of popular votes he received was not enough votes to get that rounded up delegate and he lost most of those to Pete. This is how Bernie technically won the Iowa caucus but for all intents and purposes the media are saying that Pete is the actual winner of the caucus. Due to rounding. Let that sink in. It’s not a statewide math problem. Those are the RULES lmao. Pete won over 2/3 of Obama-Trump counties. He’s the candidate to bring back the states that flipped from blue to red in 16 that put trump in office. He literally beat a 2 term VP and the most popular senator in the country. He was a NOBODY a year ago. He is our best shot in my opinion.

Let's talk when he can get more than 4% of support from people of color in a national poll. Just because that's the rule doesn't change the fact that the way the results are being framed is disingenuous. The fact you are rationalizing the fact Bernie won precincts by over 15% by popular vote and still got the same # of delegates as Pete, "because its the rules," and trying to say he's the best person to beat Trump is ludicrous. Even if we didn't know that, this isn't how feedback works when we are talking about organizations. The person at the top is usually the person who takes some kind of responsibility if the damage is large enough. People would be right in calling on Tom Perez to take action, with this and him changing the rules for the debates to allow Bloomberg to debate, that and the fact that activists didn't want Perez in charge in the first place and his election might not have been fair in the first place, there are many people who distrust his judgment and ultimately this kind of stuff will reflect on him. It clearly has, as he issued a statement about this saying that the app will not be used going forward. They don't have the ability to make executive decisions over whether a state holds a caucus or a primary or things on that level, but there are motions to coordinate to make sure that the primary process goes smoothly. They aren't just sitting on their feet hoping for all 50 to go off without a hitch Even in this instance, they told the IDP not to go with their original method of getting votes that they had planned on and suggested this alternative (though we don't know if they recommended this specific App or not) 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
Shaney 5,515
Pete and Bernie should sue the Iowa Dem Party. This is so wrong.

Didn’t you know? Only sources from the Pete campaign are true. Any valid criticism from anyone who doesn’t like Pete is propaganda and that somehow he is the most electable candidate now even though he’s currently losing the popular vote in Iowa? What it is factual? That he is a mayor? Thats a reason not to respect someone? You can disagree with his political views, but are people so stupid to not realise that Pete has some of the qualities that person puts in the first 2 categories? Anyway, talking about respect : Bernie supporters, that's how you make people not respect you. People can have different political opinions on those issues than you and still be good people.
