it should just be when candidates actually have an equal number of people behind them & there's an extra delegate. I can't think of any other scenarios where it's necessary -- I know I've seen some other tweets but I bet they're not right with the numbers they are asserting. or the caucus was run incorrectly and the results will be counted in the correct way after the IDP looks at it. 

But yeah, it's a dumb method. The way to avoid it would be to just total the state "votes" or "alignments" and count it at the end.

If they release only some of the report, it will affect the media narrative that is all I am saying. They should wait to release it all, because 50% could show a winner at the time who is not the final winner, and there is no point to that other than to appease people who don't want to wait.

They are releasing it all at 5pm est as far as I'm aware. I haven't heard of them releasing part of it. I think their statement mentions further results in time as in like...the 1% of caucuses that still arent reported like happens in every election for a few days. 

I just fully believe that jumping to conclusions about any sort of bias, rigging, app conspiracies...are just not supported by the obvious facts that a caucus happens in full public view where everybody knows each other's votes, it's on paper at several steps, AND the IDP is going back and recounting all of that evidence to get the right result. It's disingenuous to suggest that the DNC is against bernie or that there's anything nefarious going on. That's the slant of what you posted & it's dangerous.

I understand the need to be wary of conspiracy theories going out of hand, but It doesnt mean that everyone critical of the process IS a conspiracy theorist.

Also, it is NOT disingenuous to suggest that the DNC is against Bernie, there have been literal reports done by mainstream journalists about the motion to try to deny Bernie the nomination

Just off of the top of my head - there are several others and video clips of representatives expressing their concerns against Bernie on live tv, not to mention literal examples of attack ads FUNDED BY THESE PEOPLE against Bernie deployed in Iowa in just the last 2 weeks.

On top of that, the chair of the DNC, Tom Perez has nominated a long list of members to the DNC's platforms and rules committees who have explicit Anti-Bernie bias going back years, including superdelegates who say that they would pick Joe Biden as the nominee TODAY if they had the chance.

The danger is in complacency and being afraid or unwilling to call out corruption, not in pointing it out. I want us to win in 2020 and it seems like the DNC is willing to stand in the way of that if it means Bernie is the nominee, and that should disgust every single Democratic voter.

I know that people will overreact, they will embellish, etc, and that is why I hold any sources I use to a high standard. You don't have to trust me though, you can do the research yourself.  Look up Nomiki Konst - she was  part of the unity board to reform the rules of the DNC after 2016 when it was alleged that they had rigged the primary for hillary against Bernie, and was later partially confirmed in several lawsuits which led to the forced resignation of the chair, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. She proposed an amendment that stated that the people in charge of the DNCs budget must be elected members, not appointed, and also that any voting member must not be allowed to have documented conflicts of interest. There are people who Tom Perez appointed to these committees who literally are funded by Republican conservative think tanks, fossil fuel executives, Pro Israel lobbying groups, military and defense contractors and more. It is OBSCENE that these people should have a part of deciding the Democratic Party's platform or convention rules. Her proposal was shut down overwhelmingly, in a stunning rebuke of ethical governance

so many apathetic voters in Iowa/across the country believe the system is corrupt, ineffective, or rigged and don't believe that it represents them anymore. When you see bs like what happened in Iowa yesterday, can you blame them?

the articles I read were **** & didn't mention the 50% thing. That would be annoying. But it would still be just whatever they've so far been able to confirm as correct. 

As far as the DNC is concerned -- this is the IDP which is technically different -- but even if you just mean the entire democratic apparatus is against bernie, sure. They don't like him. But that doesn't mean these results are being tampered with. The app was a dumb idea with funding from shady sources. It's not going to change the results & I just think some of the more alarming stuff is going too far.

Again, I never said the results were bound to be inaccurate, only that a release of 50% of the results with no word on a full release is BAD optics and bad messaging. It hurts Democrats as a whole, and this whole thing just makes Trump look better. He's already spinning this effortlessly.

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree here, because I feel that most people arent critical of them enough and always give them a pass by virtue of being "better than Trump" and I think we should all have higher standards and be especially critical of corruption on our side.

The things I posted DO make the Democratic party establishment look corrupt. If people keep making excuses for them, we'll never fix this party.

There was a thread here about the corruption of the members appointed to the DNC and some of "moderates" on this site just kind of shrugged and were like meh because it was against Bernie, and they went out of their way to make excuses for it  So yes, we need a refresher on what corruption looks like, and we need the courage to call our own people out. Lives are at stake, and I mean that literally.

It is not any progressive's job to not make the problem worse by pointing out what happened last night, the past and present behavior of the DNC, and the implications of such behavior especially since the DNC's behavior inherently harms and tries to stifle the progressive movement. The democrat party is corrupt and nothing that was posted makes it "look more corrupt than it is." The reality is so many centrist Democrats are so hell bent on beating Trump/the GOp that they demonize progressives who point out their corruption and blatant rigory. It's getting ridiculous at this point.

I'm waiting for the day that the progressive party of America can grow to the point that it can break away from the Democrats and establish a viable three+ party system. We're getting there slowly as the progressive agenda builds ever increasing steam among the American public despite what vocal centrists on this site otherwise claim to be the opinions of the "far left of GGD."

okay. the problem is that the facts -- someone who gave money to pete also gave money to this app....and people who worked on hillary and obama campaigns worked on an app for DNC operations....are not surprising or unusual...or unexpected at all...and are being made out to be nefarious...and they are tying in Israel somehow.
