Cuz even if he does energize his base, if it's not a state with a high percentage of his voters this might not be surprising And my perception is that Iowa is a mostly middle class white State. The decline in the very people that Bernie claims to motivate to vote is telling. Again time will tell and like I said before I think Bernie can still win the primary, but unless he motivates the people who stay at home he probably won't win the general. He doesn't appeal to moderate and conservative Republicans, so he absolutely needs the stay at home voter. Did you just see the State of Union that just ended? Trump was going after socialism in a big way and comparing it to South American socialism. Yes it was all bullshít but Republicans eat that fear mongering of socialism like if it was a hot meal after a forty day fast. That said. The only person I think of the top four that should bow out right now is Biden. This was his state to win and he failed miserably. He will not do any better in liberal states. "Socialism" is of course a generic term to use as there's many versions and branches of socialism... It can even be a little arbitrary on a spectrum. How much taxation, government spending/programs and regulation do you have to have before you cross a threshold that is considered a "Socialist" society? Also my hope is that people in my home state of Michigan (and this applies to Pennsylvania as well) have woken up after 2016. Trump won by such a small margin and a lot of people I know said that they didn’t care much because it seemed like Clinton had it in the bag and they didn’t think Trump had a chance of winning. It could go either way, but I hope that people have learned from their mistakes. OT: What in the world could possibly be taking this long with these results?!
