Nightwish and Floor Jansen part ways

"Nightwish and their longtime lead singer Floor Jansen have parted ways.

The Finnish symphonic metal band confirmed their Dutch vocalist’s departure earlier today (Tuesday, October 15), offering minimal detail but saying that the split was a mutual decision.

They write: “Nightwish and Floor Jansen part ways.

I am devastated. This is the 3rd time Nightwish parts ways with a lead vocalist. Floor Jansen was the perfect fit for their sound  Well, at least it's the first time they part ways with a female singer on good terms

Honestly, good for her! She was so brilliant with ReVamp, AF and her solo work that it was kinda disappointing how they didn't do much with her amazing vocal range. Her new single is amazing and I'm really considering going to her tour next year. As for Nightwish, I hope for whoever comes next that Tuomas lets them breathe and actually have some creative collaboration with him instead of being a vessel for his ideas.

Since Nightwish is about to become a studio project, i think they could just have guest vocalists? Also, If tuomas put her wife there a lot of fans will hate that, a lot already hate Troy in the band. Imo they should disband at this point.

This proves that neither Tarja or Anette were the problems, at least Floor was faster instead of waiting for the letter. Way to celebrate 30 years lol.

And also i loved tarja liking the floor post lol.

Right, after the initial shock passing and some reflection on the past year, I do think Floor made the right choice. She is a live performer, she needs the stage. Nightwish do not want to perform live in the foreseeable future. And their last album unfortunately was a massive disappointment: Confused melodies, nonesensical lyrics, bad mixing and yes, Floors potential was never truly utilized by them. A huge step down from their previous works.

I will still follow Nightwish for now, but depending on the quality of their next project, I might have to move on for good

As much as it hurts to admit, you are right. So many great musicians already either left on their own volition or were kicked out by Tuomas. It seems as if working with him must be difficult. While I did like Troy very much, his pipes, flutes and softer voice giving a nice tone to the music, once Marco left Troy was not able to cover his parts in a satisfactory way. 

Maybe it IS time for Nightwish to finally disband, the last album Yesterwynde was so, so bad

I missed their last tour, I regretted it at the time and now this 😭

I’m interested to see what they do next, dianne van giersbergen would be a worthy successor imo but I can only dream

Same here, I wanted to go so badly, but ended up canceling my plans last minute because I didn't feel like so good mentally. Now I regret it so much  Well, I will certainly try to see Floor Jansen with her Hytress Tour next year

I nearly cackled on the halls at work when I saw that  everybody hates Toumas, himself as well and that's why he's such an ass to all the ladies it seems.
