Bradley 59,226
From Wikipedia: Jon Pareles of the The New York Times gave the performance a positive review, and declared that the performance itself was called an improvement over the previous years halftime. He declared the halftime show to have been, "a no=nonsense affirmation of Latin pride and cultural diversity in a political climate where immigrants and American Latinos have been widely demonized." He declared that, "Shakira and Lopez were Latina superwomen, smiling pop conquistadoras backed by phalanxes of dancers. They sang, shimmied, and thoroughly outshone the brief appearances by their guests, both reggaeton stars: Bad Bunny, from Puerto Rico, and J Balvin, from Columbia." He declared the show to be, "euphoria with a purpose."[15] David Bauder of the Associated Press wrote, "Jennifer Lopez and Shakira infused the Super Bowl halftime show with an exuberance and joy that celebrated their Latina heritage. Their breathless athleticism matched that of the football players waiting in the locker room." He commented that, "The guest acts, J. Balvin and Bad Bunny, were superfluous and only served to better emphasize the talents of the headliners." He concluded that the show, "could rightly be declared a success, and it also bodes well for the management of Jay-Z, who packaged the program for the first time on a new deal with the NFL." [16] Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune wrote, "Prince's 2007 Super Bowl performance is still king of halftime, but Shakira and J Lo were certainly the most undeniable performance since then." He also found Shakira's performance to be stronger than Lopez's.[17] (Lady Gaga says hi?????????? Chicago Tribune?????) Bobby Olivier of NJ.com wrote that the show, "was high-octane, relentless Latin pop fun delivered by two artists who know better than most how to blow a crowd’s hair back with their dance moves and magnetism," and declared that, "Top to bottom, it was a blazing performance that should challenge Lady Gaga and Beyoncé as some of the best halftime sets of the past decade or so."[18] Chuck Arnold of the New York Post described the performance as "electric".[19] Greg Evans of Deadline Hollywood wrote that, "In a high-energy mix of music, dance and sequins, Lopez and Shakira (and several teams worth of back-up dancers) delivered a spectacle-style show not without its statements." [20] Alex Suskind of Entertainment Weekly declared the performance to be, "a punchy, political, and flat-out electric 14-minute performance that doubled as a salute to Latin culture and celebration of both stars’ careers."[21] Patrick Ryan of USA Today hailed the performance as, "one of the best Super Bowl halftime shows in memory". xoxojohnwayne 574
of course both Jlo and Shakira are amazing musicians but you can tell that Gaga is the one who can sing 100% live and dont need any pre-recorded vocals for the whole Superbowl halftime show.. Yeah definitely. I don't think the critics are trying to call JLo and Shakira good vocalists, that title belongs to Gaga and Beyonce. They are praising their stage presence and dancing and stage direction.
Poker 3,728
They deserve it. Shakira is so charismatic and jlo gives good performances. Both together blow it out of the park. I'm so happy for Shakira. She's so sweet and humble, it makes my heart fill with joy to hear people aclaim her! Kindness rules all.

Ngl I dont see how Jlo thinks shes more popular as a musician than Shakira. Shakira's literally got way more hits (that I know of). Just this picture how Jlo cradling her like she's above her just further proves her mentality rn

Besides, Gaga's choreography has always taken the route of being quirky and unconventional rather than an established 'genre' like Shakira and JLo's is. I feel like the Latinas' dancing is very reactive to beats and very sensual, whereas Gaga's choreography is meant to look like an art piece where it's not meant to be participated by the audience but rather to watch from afar in a spectacular fashion.
