I say safe choice because even though it feels like a “gaga” track it also just feels very pandering to what’s on the radio atm which is unlike her to follow trends. Look, I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I would have loved if she could come up with something better. Shallow (even tho it's from a movie) sounds fresh and new and it was made 10 years into her career. If she wanted to go back to pop, which I don't have anything against it, she could at least put a weird spin on it like everytime... instead I found that she played it really safe this time.
