Dua isn't any lesser of an artist than Gaga, I said it before and I'll say it again, everyday y'all start to sound like Beyonce stans more and more

Well good thing because both Beyoncé and Gaga have status and artistry. Dua is as generic as it can get. There's nothing deep or fresh about her work and she's just a product of sound trends. As soon as this electronic overproduced pop / trap trash trend is over, she'll be too.

Just a reminder that this is the EXACT thing y'all say when there are talks of a Katy collaboration... which is funny because Katy is an iconic record-breaking artists with high concept MVs.

If not stanning mediocrity is being a smug "Beyoncé stan" then I'll gladly be one :bon:

Dua is not generic. Please admit that people have different taste and get on with your life. Seriously. Maybe take up baking or karate?

except this isn't what you said in your comment, saying you find her generic is one thing, saying "gaga (rightfully) doesn't see her as an equal" is another thing and a very rude thing to say. Sit down and don't speak for others, especially to demean someone as a lesser person.

Also I love katy and wouldn't mind a collab, so you got the wrong person  with "y'all".

I don't think it's her and it's cool that you noticed about the spellings. The date is in American format though because the Brits do day/month/year

account is run by a Canadian then. British spelling, American date format.

Lmao stop acting like Gaga makes some groundbreaking edgy experimental music, this "generic" debate is so tired, at the end of the day both Dua and Gaga are corporate manufactured mainstream artists that  purposely make appealing music that is aimed at a wide audience. Please go expand your musical horizons if you think Gaga isn't generic. Gaga doesn't even own her album masters..

What matters here is the finished product. In reality, people don't give a damn about authenticity in this kind of process. It's mainstream pop aesthetics, assumed, fabricated and reflected as such. A pop music product proposition is not debatable as "it's not authentic"; in Fact pop music is all about trends. and generic is a term to be forgotten. Everyone is manufactured to some extent, even the most indie guy in the world will always conform to the image that the movement in which he is, expects from him, whether he wants it or not.
