How is Shallow not on the actual list :triggered:

He prefers the Oscar version, while it was a beautiful and a great performance, the vocals weren't the best.

Honestly after being subscribed to him for a while I have completely given up trying to understand his thought process. I love it when he roasts the songs/albums/artists I dislike but I'll be damned if I ever make sense of what goes on in his head.

At least I agree with his number one spot. I F***** love Bad Guy too. A great pop song that others appreciated more than popheads. Sadly.

Probably one of his most eclectic lists but his opinion always fascinates me whatever he says. I certainly don't agree with almost all of it but he never fails to keep me entranced and always provides a new take on things I didn't consider. I wondered why Shallow didn't appear on his list last year, nor did it get a review. I'm honestly shocked that he didn't review a song that was one of the biggest of the year, provided Gaga with a tremendous comeback, went to #1, won an Oscar, the full works. He was really into reviewing Gaga songs in the past so I don't get why he decided to stop mentioning her when she made one of the best comebacks of all time. So to see him put her on the list, even if it was just as an honorable mention, was a relief. It was like he'd started pretending she'd never existed. But I wonder why he preferred the live version? It's good but somewhat imperfect.

I've watched him since literally his very first video and yeah, I used to support his opinion a good 80% of the time back then and he was super consistent but over the years, I find myself disagreeing more and more. I still watch him and respect his right to a different opinion but I too have also long given up trying to work out his thought process when it comes to the songs he likes and dislikes. His views are all over the place, are wildly inconsistent and what he wants out of music seems to change from year to year. Sometimes he can't even seem to pinpoint what it is he likes or dislikes anymore (the BTS inclusion was a classic example). But some of his lines are still comedy gold and music critic gold. I still quote them on GGD all the time.
