Possible. A lot of Democrats used to be pretty homophobic, too, though. It's crazy to see how quickly opinions shifted on gay marriage when you look at old polls. Her mom definitely seems pretty liberal, though, and we know Gaga hates Trump and is a Democrat so he'd be the odd one out. That said, families can be divided on politics.

Also very possible that he is/was aware that Trump attacks celebrities who comment about him, and he was being over protective of Gaga. Some actress said something similar in an interview a few months ago...that her parents didn't want her to talk about Trump because they were afraid he'd single her out on twitter.

I think the relationship between gaga and her father is "staged"  just to reflect the "daddy's girl" image  during Joanne era..  

That's why he followed her almost everywhere during that time .

Yeah I guess we’ll never know, but I think for definite since her family is middle class they’re most definitely republican voters. Because as with democrats not all being accepting not all republicans may be against human rights. But imo from what I’ve seen nowadays only republicans have the attitude of “let’s stop talking about politics” when politics should be a major concern to all people who aren’t rich (which Gaga and her family are definitely) but Gaga chooses what’s right not what’s easy.

And Gaga herself probably developed her own personality separate from her parents, I am like that too for example I have very much more left views than my parents and family do.

I wouldn't go exatering all this. He just sounds a bit grumpy. He was probably tired after a day of press alongside his daughter. Remember she is used to this and over the years trained to stay polite, she's doing her job. He is not. 

Just because someone makes a cranky impression doesn't make him a Republican homophobe.

He has a quite intimidating, stern presence, but he's very kind. I can imagine the reporter being put off by this, but it all sounds pretty exaggerated to me. It's just a daughter telling her grumpy dad to mind his own business, happens every day.

Oh yeah, parents differ from their kids all the times when it comes to politics. I'm like 95% sure though that a while back, at some BTW foundation event, Cynthia publicly made some comment that was critical of Republicans. And she's close with Glenn Close, who is very liberal....so I doubt her mom is a conservative. But that's not an uncommon dynamic, either—conservative/center right Dad and more liberal Mom. Isn't that the dynamic with T-Swift's family? Her mom and Taylor were pushing the Democratic Governor a year ago, while her Dad is a Trumper (ugh). I just don't know if it's fair to label him a Republican or possible Republican off one very ambiguous comment.

At the end of the day, though, it's pretty meh. It's not really our business, and as long as Gaga is a Democrat (and we know she is) who cares about the rest. I'm going to laugh, though, if Gag's turns out to be Yang Gang when people on here have been arguing that she's a Warren/Buttigieg/Sanders/etc. supporter.

I know she talked about it in an interview, but still my question stands, because, we gotta admit, Gaga sometimes likes to tells things that aren't completely true :p Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying she's a liar or something, but she definitely sometimes exaggerate or omits details or adds elements.
