I still would not excuse it, there are plenty of people who were in extreme poverty and got out of it WITHOUT drugging and stealing from people, plus her apology was sh*t

Till you have been in poverty and been in her shoes, its not for you or anyone else to judge what she did to get by. Now that she has the money and in excess, you best believe she is giving her daughter the best start in life and she'll have a good quality life, something which Cardi never grew up having. She also gave back money to her mum, and donated to charities.

My grandpa was dirt poor he decided to work hard and move countries to work in a factory and get money. We all make choices in life that reflects on what you believe in. Either u wanna do good in this world or bad. No excuse for evil

My dads side of the family came to Australia with nothing, my grandmother was single handedly raising 4 kids, and she managed to do so without drugging and stealing from men, committing crimes, if you do something that terrible it is my job to judge you, what she did was disgusting, and their is no excuse for it.

y'all don't let Chris Brown go for what he did, you don't let R. Kelly go for what he did,  you don't let these people go for what they did, and you don't even let James Charles go for what he did, even though a 37 year old woman made up allegations of sexual assault against a 19 year old because she was pissed he promoted her competitor, and he proved those allegations are false, and for Chris Pratt and R. Kelly shouldn't, its terrible, but why do you let Cardi B go?

I wasn't seriously endorsing her running  I just made the point that if our threshold is "we don't want criminals in Congress!" that unfortunately several people in Congress wouldn't make the cut, therefore she would fit right in. (Though... being a pedophile, rapist, white collar criminal, etc. is a bit different)

I said your comment was "telling" because you trivialized the oppression of women on the basis that people do bad things regardless of gender. I don't support Cardi B doing those things in theory.Those are bad things. But in praxis, I also know from studying the issue that the circumstances of people in prostitution and sex work are usually quite terrible, and I know that necessity breeds chaos and what we would deem bad behavior. Things like stealing, lying, etc. are often basic tools of survival of people in serious conditions and people who are inundated with that life over time. It's unfortunate, but my solution to it is not to send everyone who did it to Jail, but to have compassion for their situation and advocate for them to have more legal rights and representation and understanding.

Chris Brown  on the other hand didn't have to beat Rihanna senseless in order to pay for his next meal or to get by, R. Kelly didn't have to prey on young children to get by... also, I didn't "cancel" James Charles, and I don't think hes a sexual predator because I understand the nuance of gay and trans relationships more than randos on twitter. Also.. Chris Pratt actively supports a homophobic church and has some pretty shitty conservative views to this date, what is there to let go? Did you mean Chris Brown again?

Cardi B did bad things, just like the rest of these people, but the context and seriousness of those bad things matters. I can have sympathy for the men she robbed (emphasis on Can ) drugged etc, and still support her. These beliefs can co-exist, believe it or not

So yes, this is why we "can't let ____ go" - They are vastly different things.

There are ZERO excuses for her behavior and all you’re doing is making excuses for her. I have been in poverty myself and I HAVE NEVER wanted to do something that would harm someone else just to get me out of poverty. Growing up my mom had two jobs, and we got what we needed because she worked for it. How selfish and lazy do you have to be to drug someone and stealfrom them? She should be in jail because that is a felony. If a male rapper said he did that to a female, 99 percent of this site would rightfully cancel him. Such double standards.
