It's never easy in the middle east, Syria is still bleeding, Iraq became the military base of everyone and we're somehow, really somehow, recovering from ISIS.. can we have a rest? The last 10-15 years were so difficult, the beauty of the ME has been replaced with damage and blood.. I mean even in funerals you'll find some ppl cracking jokes to mask their sorrow at what is happening. What @littlepotter said is true. The Middle East has been used as the world's battlefield and checkerboard for decades now. I cannot imagine how the ppl who live there must feel. How tiring. Here's a good video about that whole problem, its actually quite interesting but also makes me so angry - Alberta, Quebec, the Atlantic provinces, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan all want to secede from Canada. Because Iraq Is the hotbed of other people's problem. Same with Syria. Geographically it sits between Turkey, Iran, and Saudi Arabia (in addition to the gulf states like UAE) all countries which aid rebel groups or governments that favor their countries and ideologies. That's kind of why the Middle East is in a Cold War type of scenario where Iran and S.A are opposing each other via proxies. The predessor to this was the actual Cold War fought between the US and Nato vs Soviet Union and its bloc. The west and soviet union had A LOT to do with the current dynamics of the M.E. I think it's a bit self-centered, but understandable, to think of your lives in regard to this situation. Pray for the innocent Iranians, the Iraqis and maybe even the Saudis that will be killed. This won't affect us like it will them. They will know the terror that is war sadly. Over a million Iraqis were killed during the Iraq War. I expect more if an all out war happens with Iran. The US has drones. One person can kill thousands. Obama sought out for that and Trump is using it at full force. If the US is good at doing anything it's waging war. We've never been technically attacked by another nation state except for the Pearl Harbor attack over 70 years ago. Not only do we dominate the Western Hemisphere's geopolitics but we also an ocean away from all other major powers. We should be fine. Like I said pray for the others.
