I mean... the social and historical implications of being gay aside and the lack of inclusivity aside probably early-mid 1970s downtown NYC. Studio 54, Andy Warhol, Drag Peaguentry.

that era is all my drag inspiration

Jokes aside, I really like the 50's  american aesthetic and music.

I'd love to live 1900-1920 ish.  If I could be upper class and wear all the fancy dresses.

The only good decade of the first half of that century tbh :laughga:

1900s: industrial revolution had not yet significantly improved the quality of life of the average person and middle class was only starting to take off. Life was still hard and crappy

1910s: world war 1 :neyde:

1930s: Great Depression :air:

1940s: World War 2 first half of decade and then hard recovery following years

The first 50 years of the 20th century only had 1 good decade the 1920s :selena:

It was a great decade tho I studied it a lot. It was even refered to as "the roaring 20s"

It was a decade of a lot of inventions and progress (dishwashers, washing machines, hair dryers, telephones and personal vehicles took off etc etc etc)... It was a time of a strong economic boom and rapid rise in standard of living

Life did not improve after the 1920s until 30 years later in the 1950s

Haha maybe as an upper class yes

But as an average person I think the 1920s (also refered to as the roaring 20s) would have been better

It was a time when technological and industrial progress was finally starting to benefit the average person quickly

Radios, cars, telephones and homes having electricity as the norm started taking off strongly in that decade

It was also a decade of strong economic growth both in general and for the middle class... Basic convenient inventions like dishwashers, washing machines, hair dryers also became available that decade (although they were still expensive and not everyone could afford those luxuries at the time)

It was also a decade without World War 1, World War 2 of Great Depression. The first half of 20th century had a rough start shesh :air:

Edit: I know a centenarian who died last year at age 103 and she kind said the same thing. The 1920s was the only good decade for average people in the begging of last century

Mind u in the 1910s she would have been too young to really understand life or remember it properly. I think she was born 1915 or something like that
