She said that Beyoncé inspired her and motivated her to keep going in the industry tho, so it's not far-fetched to include her as an influence. Sure, sonically they're very far apart but that's not all there is to it. Maybe you're not fond of Beyoncé and that's alright but Gaga clearly is

To be honest, I'm very surprised she made this list. It's dominated by POC/critically acclaimed artists.

Happy for Gaga, her influence on the mainstream this decade seems very clear and obvious to me so it feels great to see her get recognized!

Side note: this is like the third list I’ve seen of “decade influencers” that has included Solange, but to me none of them have really justified their inclusion of her. Any insight??

Nah. It's clear Gaga was inspired by others way more than Beyonce, end of. Bowie. Madonna. Britney. Metallica. Bruce Springsteen. The writer of the article, like every other in the media industry, just wanted to include Beyonce's name as they often do. I'm fond of Beyonce's music, not her as a person or as the overhyped "artist" she is.
