Warren’s Campaign Running Low On Cash

Lion Heart

She's finished. She gets angry and combative when she gets asked a question she does not expect or have an answer to. And on top of that, her flip-flopping in Medicare for All has upset some progressives. I expect to see her slowly go down in the polls and her supporters moving to Klobuchar, Biden, and, or Bernie.

Imagine she drops out and immediately endorsed/starts campaigning for Bernie. His numbers would be insane. A dream.

It's not going to happen. The DNC wants multiple people running for a long time to peel away delegates so nobody can hit the necessary number in order to force a contested convention when Bernie starts leading in the delegate count.

It wouldn't be that insane; given the current polling averages, Sanders would be less than 6 points ahead of Biden if EVERY Warren supporter went to Sanders, which isn't exactly what would happen:

Evidently only about one-third of her supporters would go to Sanders; it would be higher if she enthusiastically endorsed him, but keep in mind she did NOT enthusiastically endorse him four years ago and we've been given no indication that she feels differently this time around. Why endorse someone for nothing, when you can withhold your endorsement and get all of the candidates to adapt your positions in order to GAIN your endorsement? (Which is what Hillary did in 2016.)

Tagging @rojo and @PartySick since they both voiced a similar sentiment.

The strong Biden/Bernie dynamic is interesting. I’m not surprised since they act kind of buddy-buddy sometimes in like post-debate exchanges and social media. Lowkey could smell a unity ticket between them if the primaries turn ugly

Highly unlikely.

Hillary wasn't smart enough to choose Elizabeth as a VP, even though she was a top consideration at the time and Liz "would have said yes if asked" by her own admission.

Biden is less intelligent and strategic than Hillary, he thinks progressives are too idealistic, crazy, complaining about all the wrong things, and should get over life being unfair :rip: He won't offer it to Bernie, and tbh a VP "Bernie" versus an establishment administration would get nothing done. Bernie would veto centrist policies that don't do anything and Biden wouldn't ever change any of his stances on anything. Hillary at least feigned attempts to adopt some of his ideas, and at least we got that half-assed Superdelegate change so that candidates can't be absolutely cheated (as badly... it can still happen) in the future.

Similarly, Bernie is not going to pick a VP that doesn't believe in his agenda. He needs a VP that isn't bought and paid for by corporate interests, that believes in M4A, Free College, cancelling student debt, his foreign policy, and more, and a centrist VP would entirely destroy the grassroots movement and energy he has been building the last 4 years. He has already said his current plan is to pick a woman, person of color, or both, and someone who is progressive, but if either of them were to try to make a "unity" ticket so to speak,  it would be Bernie, but only with strong reservations and promises. I think Liz is an option, but idk if she brings enough support really to help him win cause their bases are similar... though she would be a most likely guarantee to pass his agenda if ever necessary (I personally like her for Treasury Secretary, but maybe we need her in the Senate:emma: )

Also, Stacey Abrams would be a good pick for Joe but not for Bernie, before anyone points it out :green:

The Vice President can’t veto things. And the latter is very untrue, Obama and Biden change their policies greatly over 8 years. Remember both of them were only for LGBT civil unions back in 2008, before they became fully supportive of marriage rights. People evolve, including Joe Biden.

Obama was 10x more progressive than Joe and picked him as VP, so I wouldn’t rule it out. We need unity, not cynicism that refuses to bring the Democratic Party together.

Stacey Abrams has less experience than Mayor Pete & is widely criticized by conservatives for spending an entire year complaining about her Gubernatorial loss. A better pick would be someone in Congress like Lauren Underwood.

Then stop wasting money and drop out by now she should know.  Same with the others who know they have no chance of winning. Why are you wasting peoples donations(and corporations for some  :poot:)

Well, she has a very genuine shot at the nomination so while I think this holds true for others, Warren, Biden, and Sanders are very fine to stay in the race.

I meant he won't be a tie breaker vote if asked to support centrist policies because they don't do much at all if anything and he doesn't believe in them, was using "veto" as in - decline, my bad.  Bernie didn't get to where he is today and with his respect in his 40+ year career by voting for things he didn't believe in just for the sake of having power and being in powerful positions.

Biden is not going to become a progressive when just this year alone  he has denigrated all of their policies and fundamentally doesn't understand the point they are making re: corruption, public goods, etc. He isn't going to come around to M4A when it becomes popular to do so. It is already popular to support M4A, more than half of the country, even upwards of 70% including Republicans over 50% have supported it since 2017-2018. This is not the same as Obama and Biden *personally* believing in Marriage Equality but being too afraid of alienating conservatives and christians to say anything about until he felt it was safe. Furthermore, Biden can not become a progressive because he has no interest in getting money out of politics. He is backed by health care insurers, bankers, and corporate elites. A majority of his career has been bowing down to those interests, and he knows it is not smart for his political future to do so because of the power and influence they have. That's why hes at fundraisers with donors promising them "nothing will fundamentally change."

Bernie's entire charm comes from the fact that he supported things like Marriage Equality, Universal Health Care, anti-war efforts, etc. because they were the right thing to do, not just when it became popular or acceptable to do so :rip:

Also, Obama didn't even like Joe Biden. Joe Biden called him "articulate" and said other lowkey racist things about him to donors and other people and much else. He just felt he needed a white guy from the rustbelt and Joe was already well known nationally from having run for president (twice). Obama was the furthest left candidate running in the race, the "progressive" and looking at how things are now, the concessions he made to the right hurt the country more than they helped.

Stacey Abrams would just be an attempt at increasing black voter turn out and maybe some millennial/women turn out, because it was low in 2016 for Hillary and will definitely be low again for Joe. She would not be a pick that conservatives like because she's black and a woman, so there's no need to point out that they hate her :green:  Idrc about her, but if she becomes the face of expanding the electorate and increasing voter turn out in the rust belt and southern states, she can stay. That needs to happen for Democrats to have continued success in the future.

I don’t get why she choose Kaine tbh. Honestly, no one cared about him.

She thought he’d appeal to Latinos without alienating more moderate white voters from what I’ve heard. It didn’t work though, Latin vote was incredibly down bc we replaced a charismatic, young POC with a boring old white woman

Lack of experience, just as bad as Stacey Abrams.

More likely are Tammy Duckworth (Asian American, US Senator), Catherine Cortez Masto (Latina, US Senator), Lauren Underwood (African American, Congresswoman), Susan Rice (African American, Obama Cabinet vet), or Stephanie Murphy (Asian American, Congresswoman).

For Bernie, could be Ayanna Pressley (the sole squad member who endorsed Warren, that could disqualify), Tulsi (she was his biggest profile 2016 endorsement), or Lauren Underwood imo
