A 74 page report with detailed research and study on likely scenarios has found that the recennt problems of extremely high water levels hitting new records year after year will not only be the new normal, but that as the century progresses lake levels could become even more Bloated with even higher levels which may cause extreme shore erotion

 

 

Although summers are expected to become hotter and drier, the increased precipitation late fall, winter and spring will more than make up for increased evaporation causing a state of chronic water bloating in the complex water ecosystem

 

The Great Lakes which are 20% of earths fresh water face an ironic reality. In a world where fresh water is largely drying up due to global warming, the great lakes may be facing the opposite extreme

Oh for anyone that doesn't understand the scope... the 2 feet to 3 feet (roughly 0.5 to 1 metre) above normal water levels the lakes are at represent trillions of gallons of water in excess

 

Edit: The power of Niagara falls with 2017 water levels which were not as high as 2019

So normal. And my childhood Toronto island being submerged for 3 years now is also normal.

 

And the Toronto beaches I used to see driving to my grandparents now underwater and gone... Or the Chicago bike sidewalks submerged... So normal

Yeah I'm a great believer in respecting other ppls right to believe what they want to believe. But some stuff is definitely hard to deny when evidence is right in front of u

 

The irony is I grew up hearing about global warming drying out the great lakes and by 2012 and 2013 it was so low cargo ships couldn't put much weight

 

But the last 7 years global warming crossed a threshold where precipitation started increasing a lot more than evaporation from higher temperatures so now the exact opposite of what was happening before was happening

A guy at my work thinks it's nonsense cuz global warming was causing falling water levels

 

So now that it's been rising the last 7 years he says "so which is it? Scientists like to blame any anomaly on global warming"

Although I want to remain optimistic I think it's inevitable we're getting to a point where it's irreversible, governments will only really do something when it's too late. Crazy to think the Earth will likely be mostly uninhabitable in a 100 years time.

I don't think earth would be uninhabitable... that's kinda pushing it. It's not a SciFi movie

 

Temperatures in most parts of the planet would still be perfectly survivable and the atmosphere and the basic parameters are not suddenly gonna change

 

Rather than uninhabitable I think it will just be a lot less ideal...

 

Farming will be tougher and unpredictable (hence the rise of indoor farming), fresh water more scares and storms more deadly

 

I think human extinction would be a reach... It will probably just be really unpleasant and food will probably be expensive AF especially crops that require a lot of water or crops that have a lower tolerance to erratic weather

More like shores, the lowest elevated areas near lakes and parks and stuff next to lakes
