Patriah 89
Michael Jackson's XSCAPE 9.5/10 Loved this new album, incredible how from some unreleased and unfinished song they created some really good versions, and I honestly recommend getting or listening to the Deluxe Version because it includes the original version, which some are good too. Lion Heart 15,041
Disclosure: Settle Rating: 10/10 I've been meaning to listen to this album for a while now, but I kept holding it off for whatever reason. Then I heard the electronically infectious "Latch" on alternative rock radio, which features the man who may very well end up becoming the dark horse of 2014 Sam Smith, and I just had to head home and listen to this genius body of work. The album is a hybrid of retro-house and R&B/ dance- pop, and coupled with the smooth vocals dancing along throughout the album,- it just takes you away. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
dynamite 50,362
Resurrection- Anastacia 9/10 Who doesn't love a bit of Anastacia?! Her songs shaped my childhood and she has one hell of a pair of lungs on her. Her latest album contains some absolutely beautiful ballads which really showcase her stunning voice, she's still got it! My only criticism is that the album is far too short, it's only 37 minutes long. My faves are: stupid little things, evolution, I don't want to be the one & apology YES!! You should get the deluxe edition on iTunes, it has 5 more songs :)

Lion Heart 15,041
Foster the People- Supermodel Rating: 5/10 FTP released their debut studio album Torches 3 years ago, and that album contained the slinky and brilliant albeit controversial "Pumped Up Kicks" that launched them into super-stardom; the record ends up becoming one of the biggest songs of the year (5x PLATINUM) with a peak at #3 on Billboard- a pretty good start. Their next single "Helena Beat" ends up under-performing and then they release three or so singles more and their chart success is pretty random, but definitely not big hits. Fast forward to January 2014 and FTP return with the relaxing "Coming of Age" and.... nothing. The song hasn't been certified in any country as of yet, and the music video has a measly 3.5 M views. Enough about charts, let's talk music: "COA" is great breezy pop track good for those moments when you just want to sit down and think, read, whatever. However to be fair, I found myself dosing off half-way through this record, even though FTP pretty much employed the same formula as they did with Torches (which I liked). Some of the songs are completely indistinguishable from one another, but my main problem with this album is that it sounds completely dated...it's as if FTP didn't really make much progress musically. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
gagalovesme 2
Ghosts Of Download- Blondie 10/10 Blondie are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year even though you couldn't really believe it! Their latest album is absolutely flawless...I still can't believe the absolute legend that is Debbie Harry is 68, her voice is strong as ever and she just oozes cool on every song. The songs area mainly catchy dance tracks, all with elements of classic Blondie songs. It's a joy to listen to from start to finish! There's also another disc of re-recorded classic tracks with the band putting a new, fresh twist on the well loved songs. Blondie have never lost it, I just hope they continue making music until they're over 100 my faves are: winter, mile high, backroom, rave, take me in the night, make a way, I wanna drag you around

hmm 979
Oonagh - Oonagh 7/10 (although it would probably help if I spoke the language ) It's a very consistent album (in terms of sound and generally quality too) that draws heavily on traditional celtic sounds but with a modern twist, but it gets a bit long in one listening. All the songs are listenable and pretty good individually but I think they sort of sound too similar to one another to sustain interest over the whole thing Gäa is a good opener that sounds quite anthemic. Vergiss mein nicht is slower but continues the same celtic/Irish sounding theme. that embodies the entire album. Minne is pretty interesting with the almost Celtic-meets-Eastern sounds. Das lied der Ahnen and Nan úye seems to share the same chorus traits of Gäa but are generally listenable. Avalon is better than the two it precedes and is probably the best song on the album apart from Gäa. The album Oonagh, by the artist Oonagh ends with the song Oonagh, which is actually the most different song of the whole album. Faolan, Hymne der Nacht, Hörst du den Wind, Falke Fleig, Tolo Nan, Orome are in the same vein as the rest of the album but idk, they're kind of forgettable alongside the other tracks. That was longer and worse written than I intended...
Lion Heart 15,041
Bastille- Bad Blood Rating: 7.5/10 Dan Smith and co. broke out in the States as their single "Pompeii" slowly climbed the Alt. and Rock charts before crossing over to Mainstream Top 40 and peaking at number 5 on the Billboard Charts. This fateful song is nearing the 100 M view count on Youtube and has 147 M streams on Spotify as of this date; "Pompeii" has so far reached 2x Platinum- not bad for a British Breakthrough Act. The main problem with this album for me was how simple the lyrics were, although I did like Greek and Apocalypse metaphors that are present throughout the record. Only time will tell if Bastille is here to stay: as of this date, the band has not had a successful 2nd single in the US; "Bad Blood" is currently sitting near the top of the Alternative Rock songs charts, but it appears that the song will need some help to cross over to mainstream radio because it looks to be peaking and the song is nowhere to be found on iTunes. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
Lion Heart 15,041
Ariana Grande- Yours Truly Rating: 9/10 Ariana Grande made her music debut in 2011 with the bubblegum pop song "Put Your Hearts Up" which betrays everything Ariana is capable of thanks to how terrible her voice was masked on that track. Ever since she was signed by Bieber's manager, Ari claims she was given more artistic control on Yours Truly and it shows immediately. The album is a perfect blend of nostalgic doo- wop songwriting, 90s hip hop soul vibe, R&B, and yet has room for some bubblegum pop tracks like the penultimate track "Popular Song," and still makes room for an EDM- inspired track in "Better Left Unsaid"- the album's closer. In my opinion, "Tattooed Heart" and "Piano" are the album's highlights and show what she's truly capable of. While her current hit "Problem" effortlessly dominates the charts, I'll be waiting ecstatically for her next album. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
