If he took his dad off life support because his chances of surviving were really low and resources were being wasted then thats understandable.

But the fact that he apparently did it just because his dad was not supportive of him just seems malicious.

Abusing your son because he is gay is also malicious i kinda get where he is coming from but yeah its still wrong

If you're on life support you're already dead and not coming back so I don' see why it matters. Most people keep their family members on life support to say their last goodbyes or because they feel guilty about letting them go. There's no need to keep someone existing but not alive for selfish reasons. He could've said his goodbyes and felt no need to keep his dad alive to just sit there and slowly die. Plus think of how outrageously expensive it would be to keep his dad alive for no reason. It's not like the man was ever going to do anything ever again. Imo I think the guy was explaining why he wasn't going to keep his dad on longer. He had no emotional reason to keep his dad alive like some people do. Some people keep their family members on life support for years and everyone who pulls the criticized regardless of their reasons for doing it. But it's catchier to say a gay man pulled the plug as pretend it was revenge rather than a reasonable action towards someone who was already dead.

Well the son did write that it was precisely because of the way he treated him all his life, is why he pulled the plug on him, sooo 🤷🏾‍♂️

This makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside :nick:

For those saying it's murder - so what? Murder isn't inherently wrong. If I were given the chance to legally murder my abuser (especially if the chances he'll die were pretty high to start with) I wouldn't think twice.

Murder is wrong though.

Clickbait title to make a gay look bad.

His dad was on life support. No matter if he was an abuser or the nicest man on earth, they were just wasting resources on someone who was already dead. Nothing to see here except a sensationalist writer.

I hope this gives him some semblance of closure because from this act I feel he's been living with a lot of pent up anger from betrayal from his kin.

Forgive and Forget there's no use living with this much anger. It's such a destructive force.

I don't blame him but I'm not supporting, either.

He also wasn’t supporting, twinsies! :teehee:

Also, the medical professionals taking care of this man would not allow lifesupport to be pulled for no reason.

Rest assured my keyboard crusaders, this was a sound decision. You can all calm down.

Not supportive =/= being  an abusive father.

I don't support his decision but honestly, not against it either. It is easy to judge when we are outsiders. As you and some members already pointed out, the dad's chance to recover is very low, and if the decision fall on the son hand, it likely means no other family member was willing to take responsibility and payment to keep him alive anyway.

Nonetheless, it is still heartbreaking to see a family ended like that.
