Slay!

Meanwhile we have Donald Trump trying to make Immigration itself illegal for brown people and increasing efforts to suppress minority voters because they know its almost unavoidable for white people to become a minority voting block in the future, and the party of racism will never have a chance again w.o decreasing votes :fan:

We dream of a future where immigrants can be racists too!

(I'm totally kidding, but in all seriousness, it really *shouldn't* be the case that people are drawn to one party solely on identity. To give an American parallel, Black people have more diverse political interests than just criminal justice reform, hispanic people and immigration,  etc. However, our system is so polarized around cultural and social axes instead of economic ones that generic preferences for big/small government, regulation vs anti regulation, etc. are usually less indicative of your overall political stance  Everyone should be able to disagree on these core approach differences w.o having their identity weaponized by one group and protected by the other... but alas it is not the world we live in here)

I think it makes sense since in Canada all 3 major parties are in favour of immigration and integrating them in society as best as possible so that's not really a major factor in elections. Even the Conservatives that support a lower rate still support a high rate compared to pretty much any other nation

The biggest difference in our left, centre and right wing parties is mostly economic policy and stuff like on environment

Conservatives definitely take a little longer to warm up to things like same sex marriage or cannabis legalization but immigrations are typically more conservative than canadian born on those things anyway so I'm not surprised

Also our Conservatives are definitely not as Conservative as US Republicans

Yes because the non whites are not all from the same race. It sounds like ur lumping them all together

An Indian is a non white just like a Chinese

I must admit, though it pains me, that I had a brain fart, and thought of all non-white people as black when I wrote that:cryga:

Yes, I suppose correct me if am wrong @Economy that it would become a majority minority country?

Like lets say 20% white 30%east asian 15% middle eastern etc and in those groups you also have diversity like (chinese Japanese, Indians , Portuguese, Italians etc...) (am just making things up)

Yes cuz the 80% of non whites would be from many backgrounds not all the same race

Pretty much there would be no single race that would be a clear majority

Many cities like Toronto and Vancouver already do not have a single background that can be seen as a majority

I believe UK and Australia and certainly the US has cities like that too

But this is saying it won't just be metros (which are largely like this already), but the Nation as a whole will have no clear majority

Even whites which still dominate in many cities here are technacly many different races (Portuguese, Italian, French, Greek, Polish, German, Scottish and Irish are the biggest white backgrounds here)

Irish, Scottish and French tho there's virtually no original immigrants left tho just their descendants... Even whites like Portuguese, Italian and Greeks are no longer coming in big numbers and the 1st generation immigrants are old, most under 50 or 60 were born here already

Same in the capital of my country and in the second largest city it is projected to be like that in 2020 so next year.

quoting wikipedia: People of foreign origin make up nearly 70% of the population of Brussels, most of whom have been naturalised following the great 1991 reform of the naturalisation process. About 32% of city residents are of non-Belgian European origin, and 36% are of another background, mostly from Morocco, Turkey and Sub-Saharan Africa. Among all major migrant groups from outside the EU, a majority of the permanent residents have acquired Belgian nationality.
