You can’t pretend to be your own gender unless you wanna argue that trans aren’t real, huh? You described a crossdresser, not a drag queen. They are not the same thing. Drag is specifically done as an art form. There is a difference in mindset. There is no pretending, merely an exaggeration. It's designed to be hyper-feminine to break cultural gender norms, but its not exclusive to just men. Women, trans or otherwise, have done similar to poke fun and challenge the stereotypes of femininity. Maybe they didn't call it drag by name, but that's what it is. Guest
Does she think drag kings make a mockery out of men? Is she goes to tell kings they're making a mockery of men who are juggling kids, rushing out a wholesome dinner, doing the laundry & cleaning, and holding down a job? Apparently you don't, because you fail to understand that you can't make any assumptions of who can and can't be a drag queen. In a very real sense, Gaga could be seen as a drag queen for how "outrageous" and "hypersexual" she comes off as. Or did earlier in her career. Just because she didn't call herself a drag queen doesn't mean she wasn't challenging or poking fun at gender norms.
River 127,896
It's sad to see how some women are feeling threatened by trans women instead of embracing them. It feels like how some straight guys are feeling threatened by gay. Isn't it a toxic feminism just like the toxic masculinity? So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
gagzus 23,635
Drag is nothing like blackface 💀 is she dumb? And sexism and racism can’t be compared because they’re both systemic oppressive tools. Drag in it’s contemporary form was literally born from the fact dancing with a member of the same sex was illegal in the 60s. So gay men dressed in drag for that, around the time ball culture became a thing and then stonewall happened. She should learn her queer history before she speaks on OUR art form

There is a drag king in my local drag scene called Faux King D*ck and he is a biological Male and identities as such. He’s taken seriously in our drag community, as are people like Creme Fatale and Sara Andrews
Economy 52,932
I don't know if this has anything to do with "rights" I find the LGBT uses the word rights a lot to refer to non-law or legal situations that involve some kind of prejudice This is more a case of ignorance and lack of acceptance. ltlmnstr 2,771
Just because you're entitled to your opinion doesn't mean your opinion can't be debated and discussed, especially in a public forum. She wants her opinion taken as fact. Like the Boulet Brothers say every episode, "Drag is art. And art is subjective." To condemn all forms of drag is ludicrous. Because art will exist whether you want it to or not. Example: "Lady Gaga coming out of an egg is not art" and yet it is because there's an audience for it. Art needs an audience to be art otherwise it's crafting.

Beyonce I know for sure did with Freakum Dress. You can see them in the video as her backup dancers. It becomes a meta reference because people complain about "drag queens acting like women" but then the women hire drag queens to act like drag queens acting like women. Jose P 23,341
And now radical feminists are coming for drag and trying to bring down an art form that’s been around for decades and that’s been such a huge and important part of another oppressed community. Hollow Eve is a bio queen and she’s one of the best performers and most artistic drag queens I’ve ever seen. She was just on Dragula which is a drag competition, so I would say she is taken seriously.
