A lot of the GP liked the whole album including the songs that you mention. Some people even preferred Bradleys songs like "Maybe Its Time" over "Shallow." Most people that I spoke to ( I bartend next to a movie theater and people couldn't stop talking about this movie and albums for weeks), consider Gaga's pop songs on the record a skip. It really depends on taste, and I think assuming that Bradleys songs are an automatic skip because pop girl fans don't like them is a bit misguided. I mean, I’m not saying that NO ONE dislikes those songs, but I feel like a lot of people just don’t really give those songs enough attention to warrant people saying “THIS DEFINITELY DESERVES AOTY”. I guess I should also say that this is what I’ve noticed from people on GGD. I have talked to a few people irl about the album but most of them actually dislike it or are indifferent to it. My best friend groaned so loudly when I put on Before I Cry Justice for BIC! It honestly depends on your experience. People here were beyond obsessed with the film and soundtrack overall. It was everywhere. You couldn't walk into a clothing store or restaurant without one of the songs playing. So for me personally, I feel like the whole album was well liked here. Also, working where I do and having to wait to old rich people, they really enjoyed Bradleys songs. ⚯͛
Doot 2
They always want more. This fanbase got more success than we ever expected with A Star Is Born. She's received nominations and wins from the most prestigious award shows for it, the album and movie were definitely not snubbed in any way shape or form. First of all, it has Bradley on the ballot, someone the voters won't take seriously as an AoTY contender. And It's very old. Its only single was released over a year ago. And pop voters clearly moved on. They nominated Spirit over ARUTW. So the committee made the right choice by not nominating it. It would've been another embarrassing loss for Gaga. Better to nominate her next year with LG6 if it's good, and then she can actually win if it has a proper album cycle. You contradicted yourself because Lizzo’s song and album are older. Mus 7,883
Cuz fans want gaga to win everything. There are other artists who deserve awards too people! What’s in a reverse-warholian expedition?
anthonyv 121
This why I rarely come here! Lady Gaga, in the last 12 months, is the most awarded and lauded pop star of her generation. No one - NO ONE - is coming close to this. Not anytime soon. If J-Lo get her Oscar nomination (which she richly deserves) it will be in supporting - not lead and for a woman at least 15 years older than Gaga! Another generation entirely. I'm not sure what more anyone could possibly want? She won!!
Didymus 34,380
Because they still take that rigged ass meaningless industry circus posing as an award show seriously, which makes them delusional af I mean, how anyone still takes that shitshow seriously after they nominated Teenage ****ing Dream, the year's worst reviewed pop album, for the Album of the Year category or allowed 1989 to beat To Pimp a Butterfly is genuinely beyond me. There is absolutely no legitimacy whatsoever to the main categories of the Grammy's. We're better off ignoring whatever dog and pony show they put on and focusing instead on awards and reviews that aren't bought by the industry itself. Let's stop caring, finally. Bambino 24,290
Tbh I don't care that much. It's great that she got some noms but if she didn't, it wouldn't be so bad She already has enough of them.

The fact that its still charting in the top 100 proves that. After last year having missed the deadline, I expected ASIB to have at least three times as many as it has. I expected Bradley to be nominated on his songs, plus AOTY, ROTY, Best pop vocal, best pop duo performance, SOTY ect. If Lizzo and Ariana can score 5 or more, why couldn't Gaga? ASIB beats out everything they have released this year I love ASIB and it was absolutely one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums of the past two years. It deserved an AOTY nomination, for sure. However, it wasn't the most critically or commercially acclaimed—Lizzo's album received around the same amount of acclaim and had significant commercial success (nowhere near as much as ASIB, but it sold well and has had legs...it didn't drop off like some other albums that made a big initial splash and then had their sales sink) and Norman F*cking Rockwell had more acclaim. What probably hurt it was the release date, because the Grammys often ignore "old" albums, the dialogue tracks, and the fact that it was a soundtrack. At the end of the day, it deserved more but it still received a total of seven nominations when you count last year and this year and will probably have a total of three wins. And two SOTY and one ROTY nods, two of the main four categories, for two different tracks is a big f*cking deal.

I agree that Gaga should have received an AOTY nod, but people are acting like she has no Grammys or the Grammys hate her. In reality, she has more awards than 95% of the big stars out there today. Like the only big name contemporary stars in her age range that have more are Taylor, Beyonce, and Adele.

What did you expect? That the Grammy's give Bradley Cooper album of the year before Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar and many others? Wasn't going to happen. She would've lost. Having Bradley on the ballot is a turn off for the voters. She's much better off competing in SoTY instead with Hillary Lindsey and Natalie who can bring in country vote. This will open up a chance for her to get into AoTY with a proper studio album. It doesn't have to be massively successful. I mean Lana Del Rey and Lil Nas X got in with commercially underwhelming albums, let alone Gaga. She has gotten 3 AOTY nominations before, hasn't she? While I'm ecstatic the Grammys are finally recognising Gaga again, at the end of the day, she lost SOTY last year due to an inclusive vote. And lost an AOTY year nom this year, which makes no sense for a 6M global selling album, that had a huge cultural impact

ASIB deserved the nom. HOWEVER I am super happy with the 3 she got Its kinda what I expected! Yes his tracks aren't well liked, and he got no nomination on his own. He wasn't taken seriously by the voters, because he's an actor. And he isn't a great singer. He did okay on Shallow but other than that, his performance isn't impressive in the slightest.
