Y'all got to take things into context. He said when he was a kid he loved South American politics. When he was a kid most of those south american countries were having revolutions against capitalism and for real socialism. Not just social programs.

Even if he were still a full-blown socialist, it's not like he could implement anything he wanted. Trump ran on the wall with Mexico paying for it, his term is almost over and there is no wall. If we have to compromise with the right I think it's better to start as far left as we can rather than closer to the middle.
