So because he's the first black president older black democrats won't hear about the responsibilities he has when it comes to collateral victims in Lybia for example?  Well  if ever they're indeed closed to discussing the less flattering facts when it comes to Obama, I don't think people should pretend these things didn't happen to appease them.

If they really tend to make it a taboo it's up to them to accept frank discussions but, again, I doubt they're that selfish and  rather deny these parts instead of questioning Obama's legacy and wanting to keep the best of it while not reproducing its mistakes.

Well for Biden results with black voters it's not thanks to his past between the way he treated anita hill, his comment about obama being the first "clean and articulate black american politician etc", the way he didn't fight against the clinton crime bill that is partially responsible for the over-representation of black american in jail etc...

Imagine Trump reminding the masses of all that a month before the election,  it could potentially turn a part of his black voters away...

Worse yet, Judge Garland would lose his seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit — oftentimes dubbed the second-most powerful court in the country. That means that Obama would be trading a lifetime of Judge Garland for less than a year of Justice Garland.

Alrighty then...  If you don’t believe me, then go to a black church or a black barbershop in your town/city, and start bad mouthing or criticizing Obama like the people on this thread have done so far!!! ...And see what response you get!

Yep! The vocal few here are in the minority in the outside world:

Take a look at Obama's favorable rating since he left office. Among potential Democratic primary voters, a 2017 Pew Research Center poll found that Obama's approval rating stood at 95%. A 2018 CNN poll put his favorable rating among self-identified Democrats at 97%. A May 2019 CBS News/YouGov poll showed that a grand total of 2% of Democrats rated Obama's presidency as "poor." A near unanimous 91% told CBS News/YouGov that it was good or excellent.

All of these numbers are even starker among black Democrats. Obama's favorable rating among them stood at 99% in a 2017 Pew poll His unfavorable rating was 0%. A clear majority of 57% said he was the best president since World War II in the Quinnipiac poll.

If this reaction was as universal among black folks as you say it is you wouldn't have a significative share of them going for sanders whose plan is to make a drastic turn from Obama's position imo.

And again, if ever they're indeed closed to discussing the less flattering facts when it comes to Obama, I don't think people should pretend these things didn't happen to appease them. It should be up to them to accept critics as long as it's explained with facts like it was in this thread.

Yes they are, well maybe not older black people. It’s also HOW you criticize him. Saying STFU Obama, is NOT a good way to criticize him in front of black folk!  In other words, you can attract more bees with honey than with vinegar as they say...  As for Sanders support with black people. He has the black youth, but not the boomers... And they are the ones who vote more than the youth do. Get their vote and your entire point will be valid, but fell to do so.. Then he will suffer the same exact Fate as Hillary did, but with older black voters instead.. 👌🏾😉

I get that Obama is trying to be pragmatic from an election standpoint, but the fact is most of the systems in this country DO need to be completely torn down and rebuilt. Everything in the US is so stagnant and corrupt. The sad part is that the “average” voter who doesn’t think that much change is necessary is usually uneducated and doesn’t realize how much they’re getting screwed.

To me sanders has the vote of black youth now and he gonna get the black older voters the moment someone gonna list ALL the shady stuffs Biden did to black folks all along his career.

Folks think Biden secured this older black folks vote but to me it can threaten anytime seing his past lol.

Very True on BOTH statements, but blk people want someone who can beat Trump like most other democrats want this election cycle. And so far, that only looks like Biden at the moment.. 🤷🏾‍♂️
